Whether have many or just

one, having friends in your life can be unavoidable. What do we typically look for in a friend? Some look for the same social status, some look at the fashion sense, some look at religious backgrounds, some even look for the friends to be the same culture. And many look for ones they can have fun with. Choosing the right friends is one of the

most important aspects in our lives. You're probably reading this thinking, "yeah right, one of the most important?" However, this is a true statement. In order to be successful in life, choosing the right friends is a must. So many of us are too concerned with what our friend’s think about what we do, say or even think. Friends can easily influence us by how they feel about us, or how they even

feel about various topics. Some friends might be into things you may not be but instead of opting out we can often side with them. So what's the solution?

Now, I'm not telling you to give up on your friends, but if your friends aren't leaving a positive mark in your lives, you probably should try and lessen the time spent with them and decide if their a real friend at all. If you're

an athlete, hanging out with your friends who always eat unhealthy probably won't help you as you continue to train hard for your sport and the list goes on. Friends either leave your life a little more positive or a little more negative. Never choose to stay friends with someone because you feel

pressured to by thinking you'll miss out without their friendship. Listen to your gut, and continue to strive to be the best you can be with positive influences around you. I'm thankful for my friends each and every day you should feel the same about yours.

Life gets busy we know. We can

often have tunnel vision in the sense of seeing the needs of others around. Yet there's always one that sees the world a bit differently than others. There's always that friend in the group that wants to do more than what the world has expected from them. You wonder where that vision even came from. You wonder what their thought process consists of. And no matter what you say to them, no matter how hard you try to tell them that their vision will be extremely difficult to complete, they can't ignore the call.

Founder of the She Cares Foundation, Yolanda Anderson, is one who answered the call. After the passing of her dear Aunt Donda West, who was mother of Kanye West, Yolanda was fueled by an idea which she credits Donda as her inspiration. Seeing how Donda was able to raise a son such as Kanye (who has

influenced millions of people) on her own, Yolanda's passion for single mothers ignited. Now

the "She Cares Foundation," which has landed the surface for a few years now gives many single mothers that encouragement and support that they need but may not get anywhere else.

Yolanda has been able to meet many inspiring single mothers and help out so many as well. Through this foundation, Yolanda has been able to put on an annual celebrity basketball game where different celebrities participate and families can come attend. This year marked the third annual game and many people where there to contribute to the cause. In attendance were USA silver and gold medalist Allyson Felix, American Idol finalist Stefano, NBA players such as Darius Morris, JR Smith, Nick Young, daughter of Rev Run (Run-‐DMC) Angela Simmons and many more. Many of the stars could relate to being raised by a single parent, or even having friends that were and were more than happy to support a cause such as the She Cares Foundation.

Joseph Vincent is one of the biggest growing stars today and his fan base continues to grow every single day. I have done it a couple of times just to see what pops up. (Laughs)

A lot of people remember you from Ellen, what's one thing that you learned about yourself after being on that show and having the opportunity to perform on such a big show like hers?

I realized I’m awkward and I love that and I don’t think that’s ever going to change. But I try to stay genuine and that really bleeds through my facial expressions if you can see. I bowed on the first episode on Ellen it was a mini bow, very subtle but you can see it if you really catch it.

How has this journey been for you in pursuing your dreams as an artist? How do you overcome bumps in the road?

It’s more of just having the attitude and the mindset to constantly adjust and adapt to situations and your surroundings and just the scenarios that you’re presented with.

If you have that drive and that incentive to do music for the right reasons, there’s no reason that these roadblocks should get in your way too much.

Favorite amusement park? Favorite ride?

Disneyland. And every ride. (Laughs) But I like the World of Color show!

Do you have an embarrassing on stage moment?

I always mess up on stage. I don’t it on purpose it

actually just happens subconsciously. And it breaks the ice and I like that.

Tell us about Blue Skies and the inspiration behind it? What do you want your fans to get from listening to this album? Now that it's finished how do you feel about the final product?

Blue Skies is my debut album. The whole album is my relationship with this one person, the ups and downs in starting off that relationship, going through the break up then getting back together. It’s about being content with yourself, and growing up basically, as a person, finding yourself, finding what you need to do in the world. And it’s all about keeping that positive attitude and knowing that the clouds will roll away and the blue sky will one day be there.

I just want them to have a more positive outlook and just have more faith in humanity. A lot of people are on the edge, stressed out on their day-to-day work schedules with having to deal with itineraries and deadlines. It’s more to just kick back and to really appreciate life for what it is that you can sometimes miss when going through this ongoing cycle of day-to-day craziness. I’m really excited to show everyone. I just can’t wait to see how people perceive it. I’m very proud of it and I just want to share what I made with everyone.

Best advice you've gotten so far while on this musical journey?

“To never forget why you started doing this and always keep that genuine humility.”

What advice can you give others about what it takes to pursue a career in music?

If you really really really want to pursue a career in music, it’s like anything you do in your life. You have to put hard work into it, you have to put the time, and you have to work on the craft. And if you don’t love doing it then it’s not for you. If you love doing it and you’re willing to go through the hardships as a musician, the low pay and all that stuff then it’s the right job for you and I say go for it and don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.”

As Young Celebrity News attempts to follow different types of up and coming artists, Shanelle Gabriel breaks the mold when it comes to just being labeled a musical artist. In fact, she is a poet/musician/actress. Sparking her career at a college Nuyorican Poets Cafe in NYC, Shanelle soon realized that the poetry that she wrote about was therapeutic for both herself and her audience. Appearing in gigs like HBO's Def Poetry Jam, Gabriel has been able to perform with other stars like Les Nubians, Erick Sermon and Nas.

Shanelle Gabriel is an artist that does not let her circumstances determine her future. Despite being diagnosed with Lupus in 2004 (a autoimmune disease that can damage parts of the body) Shanelle decided that she would not let this stop her dreams and was able to push past her obstacles. Check out her interview below!

When did you start performing your poetry? And why? I started performing poetry around my junior year of college. Prior to that, I didn't think anyone wanted to hear "my lil ole poems…"

and besides, everyone knew me as a singer so I didn't really think it was my thing. It wasn't until I happened to jump into a Wednesday night slam at the Nuyorican Poets Cafe in NYC (and win) that I realized how much people connected with shared experiences. So I began performing because I loved how people would come up to me and say, "I was going through the same thing." It's therapeutic for both me and my audience.

What do you want people to know about you when they see you perform on stage? Everything you hear out of my mouth is a true story. Some things may be embellished for dramatic effect, but there's so much truth in it. I really be tellin' my biz-ness up there. lol. Unless otherwise noted, like for my poem "Games" on my album Start Something. Me on stage is the same as me off stage. I'm silly in person and silly with a mic in my hand. On your live video of you singing, "Aim High," you talk about having faith. How has your faith kept you going as an artist and even growing as an artist? Anytime you step out on faith and take a path less secure, you have to expect to be challenged.

I'm constantly watching doors open and close and creak open then slam. I'm watching money come in droves and then get spent just as quickly. But as crazy as things have gotten, they ALWAYS work out for the good. Faith is what allows me to not lose my head when things go wrong. It's funny how many times I've freaked out because something doesn't go as planned only to find out two seconds later that everything is okay. Faith keeps me focused on my goals as an artist because no matter what comes my way, I know God is going to make it all come together how it needs to. So why worry? Just keep pushing.

What did it mean for you when you found out you were diagnosed with Lupus? How did you keep positive?

Being diagnosed with Lupus was a relief because it was great to know exactly what was wrong with me. I know so many people who took years to be diagnosed, and I was happy not to go through that. It got scary once I realized I had to change the way I lived, how I balanced my schedule, my diet, and all of that stuff that the average person never has to think about. There also were times that I got really sick and I was worried that I wouldn't be able to live a full, happy life. It was hard to be positive, but many times I had to force myself to think optimistically and remind myself that there were people who were way worse than me with Lupus. I count my blessings that I'm not in a hospital bed or having to go through dialysis for kidney involvement, and I try to always appreciate the wonderful things I can do (like perform and create) even with Lupus.

People assume that if you're a poet then you're automatically a rapper? Is being a rapper and poet the same in your eyes? No. No. No. All poets are not rappers just like all rappers are not poets. I do think that poetry and hip-hop are very much related and many lyrics to songs and rap songs can be viewed as poetry. Just like a hockey player can't play golf but they both know how to swing, it takes experience and skill to do both effectively.

Tell us what it was like being invited to perform at Def Jam and what the experience of being a Def Jam poet has taught you?

It was an awesome experience, and I was glad to share it with some of the dopest poets I know. Honestly, I'd already performed with most of the poets on my season prior to the taping. I'm still honored to have been able to share my work on such a huge poetic platform. I did learn that television is just another gig. It was great, but you have to follow it up with more work to be and stay relevant. You never "MAKE IT" no matter how many people saw you on TV, so you have to keep grinding. You rap, do poetry and sing! Are you working on any new albums or projects and will you incorporate all three styles into your project? Yes, that's the goal with this next project, set to be released in the fall. I want to show everyone all that I can do and have been doing my entire life while still sounding like it all came from me. I've been known for poetry for so long, it'll be interesting to see how folk take the mix that I'm going to bring. If anyone knows what it means to continue to aim high despite obstacles it's definitely you. What advice can you give to people striving after their dreams but are constantly being discouraged by different events in their life? Listen to "Aim High" because I wrote it for you. Nothing worth having comes easy. We all have our own battles to fight so don't think you are any different. Just learn how to MAKE things happen for yourself. There is no such thing as an unrealistic dream,

just unrealistic ways of getting to that dream. Learn how to adopt an attitude of thankfulness and learning from everything that happens to you. It all develops character and makes your story an amazing biography to be written in the future. After hitting the red carpet and performing for the One Warm Night web series premiere, Nicky Belardo gave a performance that rocked the crowd. With his lively personality and love of performing, Belardo started writing and making hits! With experience being an emcee for Radio Disney and ice member for the Los Angeles Kings, he was inspired to pursue his dreams in Los Angeles as a musician. Along with Belardo’s love for music, he also has a career in the modeling industry.

With different facets of Belardo's talents he defines himself with one word, “rockstar”. Belardo enjoys writing songs about real life experiences and true stories. Possessing the ability to write songs in many different topics, his sound

has a blend of classic rock, country and pop. Wild Wonder and Romeo are his new singles that talk about the emotions occurring after a breakup. Something that can be seen in this star’s performance that his fans love is the connection he has with his audience. He leaves them with a memorable performance each time. How do you balance being a model and singer? I'm grateful to have opportunities in both industries, but music will always come first for me. I am currently working with LA Weekly Magazine on a spread, so look out for me on their pages!

What I like about modeling is I can bring my own unique style to any project; whether I have deer horns on my head (an infamous photo of me taken by celebrity photographer Jenn Hoffman) or a high fashioned outfit, you will always see the rockstar side of Nicky Belardo shining through...I feel the same applies to my music! It has also been fun modeling and meeting photographers, because most of them have crossed over to help me out with my music pictures too!

Tell us how you got the gig to perform at the One Warm Night Web-Series premiere? Producer Steve Lowe caught wind of my music and liked what he heard! He found my website, reached out and next thing I know I'm rocking the runway at the One Warm Night red carpet premiere! The night was amazing and my performance had the jam packed venue rocking out! So tell us about your music! And what your overall goal is as a singer?

My music is a mix of my love for classic rock, my roots in country and a flare of pop! I am the lyricist on all of my songs, so I like to collaborate with musicians to write music that has depth, but is still a lot of fun. I believe in quality above all and I like to feature the fact that I can really sing when writing and performing.

My overall goals in music are to touch the masses and inspire everyone's inner rockstar. I believe in the dream, the journey and the person who is willing to enjoy both! I've been grateful to work closely with my producer Mike Castonguay on all of my current music.

Tell us about performing on stage? Do you get nervous? Performing on stage for me is like coming home. I've never felt quite the connection I have with people as the one I build on stage. My heart starts pounding, my body is consumed with adrenaline and BAM! The rockstar, Nicky B. comes to life. There is nothing like it. As far as nerves go...the right amount show up right before I take the stage; just enough to say "don't forget your words and give it your all."

Have you ever written a song with someone particular in mind? Tell us about it?

All of my songs are based on true life experiences. "Look To The Sky" was written for my family...I wrote it probably the week I moved to Los Angeles; it talks about the ways in which I carry the ones I love with me wherever I go. With life comes experiences and with experiences come good and bad days...my songs are a collection of what my head and heart go through on any given day. And with love comes sunshine and rain....Whether' it is my heartbreak jam "Romeo" or the nostalgic love song "Wild Wonder" there is raw emotion that inspired both. If you listen to my music, you are listening to true stories. Where does your inspiration come from when writing songs? Breathing. Living. Witnessing. My songs are inspired by a simple gust of wind or a brutal burst of emotion. This interview may inspire a song...everyone always jokes with me after a big conversation...they say "are you going to write a song about this?" I never guarantee that I won't! Are you coming out with an album soon?My debut album is in the future, absolutely. All of my current work is to promote my first collection of songs. They can all be heard under Nicky Belardo on iTunes.

Tell us about your new singles Wild Wonder and Romeo and the meaning behind the two? Wild Wonder and Romeo are ironically about the same situation. Each song took me only 15 minutes to write as the emotion was responsible for both. They offer the spectrum of a breakup from the whimsical "I'll miss you feeling" (Wild Wonder) to the angry "I'm better off without you feeling" (Romeo). I'm extremely proud of both songs! What advice can you give to others striving after a career in the entertainment industry? There is so much advice I'd love to offer. Above all is to not let anything define you other than yourself. No matter where you are, how long you are there or the hurdles in between...you say what you are. Tyler and Camille De Larm are not your typical married couple. Wedding bands aren’t the only things holding these two together but the music they create. These nerds, (which they consider themselves) are in a band called, “The Ones You Loved .” Collectively Tyler and Camille both write their songs giving an equal share of the load when it comes to music and not just the chores around the house.

Night Owl is their second full album, which is releasing October 20th of this year. Inspired by their early years of their relationship, Night Owl allows them to reflect on the past and create something their fans will love. What makes this couple so unique however, is not just the music, but the heart they both have behind their sound. In fact, they gave 70 percent of their sales off their first album to the St. Jude Hospital. That’s awesome! Check out what this band had to say about music!

Have you guys always done music together or did your band start after you were married? Camille and I have been working together on this project since the very beginning. We were very close friends for a long time before we were married or even dating and as our relationship has developed so has our project.

Besides music what else do you two enjoy doing together? Everything… We’re newlyweds. I keep hearing that sentiment will wear off but I sincerely hope not. For the most part, when we aren’t “working” on our music (and I use the term working very lightly here because developing content is an extremely rewarding experience) then we are probably playing table top Dungeons & Dragons or Mine Craft. Who writes the songs for your band? What's been your favorite song that you guys have made? To be honest, I am not entirely certain myself. Both of us? Most of the time after a song really comes to fruition; the pieces we started with don’t fit anything like we intended them to. We just go in to our studio with an idea and a desire to capture some particular elements and after a few hours of editing we play back the polished piece to trying to figure out what the heck just happened. It’s sort of like Majora’s Mask but with more recording, a larger starting inventory and a lot less Ocarina… but the Ocarina is definitely still in there.

We can’t really say too much about our favorite song yet because we haven’t released any information on it, but I can say that we love all of the songs we put out or they would never make it to an album. Who's the bigger nerd Tyler or Camille? Whoa, hold on. I just said we’re newlyweds. A question like that could start a vicious quarrel and I don’t fancy sleeping on the couch. I think it’d be best for everyone if we tread lightly around this subject. However, in terms of mass, I am physically a more sizeable nerd than Camille, capable of resisting acceleration…

We read that 70 percent of your sales were donated to Jude Hospital. That's incredible and why did you decide to give your proceeds to a hospital and not keep for yourselves? The two of us are very grateful to be together and to lead the life that we do. We don’t have anything to gain from keeping more than we have to. Our family, our friends, and our fans are all so very gracious and supportive that we would be remiss if we failed to turn any number of those positive interactions into something more than our own financial gain. Tell us about your new album coming out "Night Owls," and the inspiration behind it? How do you feel about the final product? Night Owls has always been intended to catalogue these early years of our relationship in a way that allows us to look back on them and remember what we were doing and going through. In many respects this album is the family scrapbook that we’ve made together over the course of our involvement. What are some challenges that you guys have had to overcome as a band?

Camille and I are vegetarian. At home this is never really an issue but once you’re out on the road (especially close to Texas) it’s hard to find anything that isn’t barbecue or fast food. Other than that I think our bands challenges are pretty run of the mill. Stuff breaks and gets stolen, shows get cancelled, and everyone is constantly over worked but it’s all worth it for another chance to gain new experiences and friends.

Tell us the process you go through before performing on stage? Before any set makes it to a stage it goes through several phases of development. We start by laying out the theme of a performance on paper, arranging songs in an order we think best reflects whatever that theme may be. After that our track listing is loaded into a recording platform and we plan out transitions between songs as well as any changes in the song itself. When we’re satisfied with what we’ve put together for the frame of our show we render it and move on to the last three stages… private screening, rehearsal, and finally, live performance.

What do you want your fans to know about you guys from listening to your music?

We don’t care what they think of us and that has always been our approach. Both of us are well aware that the things we enjoy aren’t considered mainstream and we don’t necessarily want them to be. What we do want is to have people understand that everyone has something wonderful to offer the people around them. We’ve never met a person we couldn’t love and we hope that someday our work will help others to feel similarly. 10. How do you guys encourage each other when going through tough times as artists? It is always encouraging to be surrounded by the people you care about and when your wife is also your band mate there isn’t very much worth being upset about. Camille has a way of making everything more lighthearted and since we’ve been working together there have been a lot less tough times.

Many people will tell you that your dreams suck, that they won't ever go anywhere or are just plain stupid. Yet those people aren't the ones that kill our dreams, ultimately we are the ones still with the power to push pass the noise and keep going. For Masha, she has continued to fight for her passion in singing, which was only a dream initially. At the age of eleven her grandpa knew she had a gift in singing and since then has not stopped.

Her Grandpa wasn’t the only one to notice her talent either.

Songwriter Claude Kelly who has written for artists such as Bruno Mars, Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson and more heard Masha sing one of his demos and fell in love with her voice.

Now, Masha is working hard to release her EP this fall, which she intends to bring back women empowerment with a rock classic feel. We got a chance to catch up with the superstar and ask her questions about her music! Stay tuned for more of Masha because it won't be long before the world hears her incredible voice.

How has it been working with Claude Kelly? Are you learning a lot? Working with Claude is always a blast. It never feels like work. You couldn't really ask for a better mentor. Within just the past two years, I've grown tremendously as a human, and artist. So, yeah, everyday is a learning experience.

What is the hardest thing about being in the music industry? That's a tough question. It really is a double-edged sword.

Never Give Up On Your Stupid, Stupid Dreams

You love what you do so much, but it gets really difficult emotionally at times. The toughest thing for me, personally, is staying positive after a disappointment (especially as a Gemini). But having a team around me who are so supportive definitely helps.

What is your overall goal as an artist? To be able to sing in front of a crowd on a daily basis. To have longevity, and to spread positivity around the world. I really just wanna inspire people.

You're voice is amazing! How long have you've been singing? And who was the first person to recognize your talent? Thank you!! I've been singing for 11 years now. Actually, the first person to notice my ability to carry a tune was my Grandpa! At the tender age of 11.

How did becoming "Claude Kelly's," artist happen for you? I was working with a production company when I was 15. They actually got in contact with Claude. I recorded a demo of his. He heard it, loved it, and we haven’t stopped working ever since. Are you working on an album? What can we expect from your upcoming project? I am! I am hoping to release an EP in the Fall. I'm attempting to bring back some female empowerment Classic Rock. It's organic. All live instruments. Everything recorded to tape. No bells, or whistles.

What do you do to practice your vocals and continue to improve? Do you have a vocal coach? I've seen tons of vocal coaches in my life. I actually just started up with this incredible woman, Melissa Cross. I'm excited to continue working with her. I always wanna get better!

What's been your favorite song this summer? "A Little Bit of Everything" - Dawes To the outside world, you make what you do look easy but tell us how many hours on average do you spend a day working on music? Well, when recording, or writing I typically spend the entire day in the studio. 10am-7pm Sometimes later. (Musicians in Nashville tend to go home to their families after dinner-time.)

What advice can you give to someone just starting out in music? Try to surround yourself with people who are better than you. Practice, practice, practice!!

The world got to see Zay Zay's official big video when he showed everyone what happens when a camera captures a cute five year old who is good at telling jokes. He explained to the audience what it's like growing up as an African American child and if you missed that video, you better go check it out after you read this article! Zay Zay not only keeps us all laughing with his own humor, but also features his younger brother JoJo. What's the hardest part about being a big brother? And the best part about being a big brother? Trying to make JoJo sit still! Taking care of my brother JoJo.

What made you want to become a comedian? Daddy made me want to be a comedian. Because he made videos and I wanted to be like Daddy.

Do people ever stop you when you're out and about with your family because they recognize you from your videos? What do they do? Yes! They say "Hi Zay Zay, aren't you the kid from the video?" Sometimes they ask for my autograph!

Zay Zay's Favorites: 1. Favorite thing you like to do? My favorite thing to do is play with my toys and playing with Play-doh. You can make anything out of Play-doh. I made my name and I made a pizza. 2. Favorite Food you like to eat? Bacon! 3. Favorite game you like to play? Mario Kart. I play it on the Wii!

Who are some of your favorite comedians? My Dad, Anthony, my Uncle Jay and Mr. Nate Jackson.

How do you manage being a full time student and comedian? It's hard being in school and doing comedy. But it's harder sometimes doing comedy because I get nervous.

Now that you're famous, can you get away from doing your chores from your parents? Or do they still make you do your chores? Yes! I still have to clean my room! It's supposed to be clean, like everyday! I have to take out the bathroom trash too! And my mommy says I can't get out of my chores!

What advice can you give to other kids your age that want to be comedians like you? I would say, make videos, practice doing comedy!

How To Break Into The Industry And Get Signed!

Here is a checklist that you should have if you're thinking about getting signed.

1. MAKE MUSIC! Start getting some music out there, record a few tracks and see where that takes you.

2. SHOWCASE YOUR TALENTS! Talent scouts are actively looking for new talent and where can one be found? Well places like YouTube, Vimeo are social networks that can display your gift as an artist so make a few (good quality) videos.

3. GET FANS! They want to see that people actually like you. Make a fan page on Facebook and Twitter and get people to follow you.

4. LOOK THE PART! Get some professional pictures of you as an artist, and even at your show. Hire a professional photographer to take some photos.

5. PERFORM. In order to get better as a performer you must practice, and to do that you gotta perform. Hey you never know who's in the audience looking at you.

Tinsel Korey, who many know as Emily Young from the hit movie Twilight takes no breaks when it comes to showcasing her talents. This actress however isn’t just spending her time on sets perfecting her acting skills. Instead, she not only works hard being a full time actress, but musician and songwriter as well. While many of us would love for things to come as easy as possible for us, Tinsel loves working on projects that challenge her.

Seize The Day, is the latest project from this superstar, which can be purchased through ITunes, Amazon and other various places! With someone who’s as talented and well known as Tinsel, one could easily get signed in the music industry. Yet this artist is doing everything independently and has spent nights working tirelessly on this latest project.

Well, the hard work has paid off because Tinsel’s latest EP creates a sound that is soothing to all ears. Check out the interview from this star below!

Most people know you as Emily Young from the movie Twilight. How is Emily Young's character similar to Tinsel Korey or different?'

I think probably the protective nurturing side is the thing we have the most in common. I can be a very loyal person, and will always protect the people who are close to me. I think Emily is more confident then I am and is a better cook. I have moments of that, but I think Emily wins in both those categories.

Do you have an embarrassing story that happened to you while on set of Twilight?

Not really. I didn't like fall or anything while coming into a scene. Though I did think about it happening. LOL What happens when you're on set and you get really hungry? Do you just wait it out until you complete everything needed for that day? Or are there a lot of breaks in between? There are a lot of breaks. For my scenes, there are a lot of people in the shot. So that means a lot of different camera angles and set ups. So you have time to go to "Crafty", which is the cast & crew snack bar. Aside from acting, we know you spend a good amount of time in the studio working on your music! What do you enjoy more music or acting? As long as something is challenging me, I'd rather do that. Right now, music is the challenge, so that's the space I'm in. At some point there is going to be a great acting role that tests me, and my direction will turn there. I don't think it's about one or the other; it’s about the specific project.

We've seen people in the past that start with an acting career and make that switch to music or vice versa. Justin Timberlake has been focusing a lot on acting, Queen Latifiah made that switch as well from rapper to actress. Do you see yourself making a complete switch in careers? How do you balance the two?

I've been doing music just as long as I've been acting. It's just that the acting part took off sooner. Back in the olden days, people had to do everything, sing, act, dance. I'm modeling my career more around that, rather then this new thing, where you have to pick one or the other. Is it a juggling act? Of course. But I think that it is possible to achieve both, especially

when you have a supportive team behind you. Also it was just timing. I don't think I'm the same songwriter that I was 5 years ago; there's so much more that I've learned. At the end of the day, it's all art; the vessel is the only thing that changes.

Tell us about your new EP coming out Seize the Day? How do you feel about the end result of it?

I feel amazing about it. When I saw it had released on iTunes, Amazon & Google Play. I was literally running through my house screaming "it's up!!!" LOL I'm doing this all independently, so there was a part of me that worried that it wasn't to go as planned.

My producer and I spent nights working tirelessly on this project. So to be getting a positive response from the listeners & press is an incredible feeling.

Tell us about your writing process as a songwriter. Do you have a specific place you like to write your music? Do you start with lyrics then a melody? Special time of day? I like to write on the bus. Three of the songs lyrically were written on the bus. Traveling through Vancouver, getting from one place to the other. You have a lot of time on the bus to think and observe. Actually, I was just in Vancouver for July, and I rode the bus almost everyday to my boxing training. Just writing, thinking, observing. The other two songs off the EP "Love Me Let Me Go" & "Seize the Day" were written in studio. That was an interesting process, cause my producer was there, making suggestions, adding things, and I would get frustrated because I'm not used to someone commenting on what I'm writing. It was all for the better good of the project; but in the moment it would bug me. LOL

What's the best advice you've gotten so far while being on this journey?

Wow. There has been a lot. Someone told me something like, that with all good songwriting, the truth of the story is what will really makes the song sing. That really stuck with me.

What message/s do you want your listeners to get from listening to your new EP?

The message behind the EP is to Seize The Day. To take a chance. Go into the door that scares you. Whether it be in a relationship or life. Just go for it. That's my motto in life right now.

I could have kept dreaming about putting together an album, kept wondering if I should have taken a chance, or I could just do it. I'm glad I did. Cause now I'm talking to you lovely folks about something that was just a dream and that is now a reality. :) What advice can you give to up and coming entertainers that want to make acting and music a career from themselves? My acting coach said to me "Trust, that who you are is enough". Focus on the art, not fame. Fame will come and go, but what art you leave on this earth is the most important thing. Work hard, never give up, and do your best.

This artist is not a rookie

when it comes to being in the music industry. In fact, being a part of music is nothing new for Troi. Some may even question if she has clef notes in her DNA. Having both parents heavily involved in the music industry during the 70s and 80s, influenced Troi to be the artist that she is today. At fifteen, Troi and her twin sister formed the group Axiz, which the two were signed with Jive Records. Although the two aren't currently in a group together or with Jive Records, Troi has learned that to be most successful, you must know who you are.

Most people just want to get their foot in the door before truly developing who they really are as an artist. Having this mentality can often set you up for having limits when it comes to your craft.

For Troi, it is extremely important to have a clear mindset of who you are as an artist. She continues to work hard to build a team around her that accepts her artistry and sound. Her new single, "Red," gives listeners a sense of love and hope. Check out the interview with her below!

You’ve had quite the journey in the music industry. What is something that you’ve learned through it all? I've learned that you need to have everything in order on your own before putting yourself out there. If you don't know who you are, people will try to push their opinions and ideas on you. Why do you love music? Music is just a part of me. I can't not love it. I was raised with it as a part of my life and my love for music has grown along with me.

What inspired you to rebuild your music career after parting ways from the industry at a young age? It wasn't so much parting ways with the industry as parting ways with Jive. I needed a team that would accept my sound and my artistry. During that separation, I had more time to explore myself so I did feel a transformation but that also comes with just growing up. My plan has always been to make a career out of music.

What are the positives and negatives of starting a career in music at such an early age? Well the positives are that you have all the time and energy in the world. No job and no worries means you can devote yourself completely to music. It's a blessing. But the curse is that people take you less seriously and you’re expected to sing age appropriate music. Then people view you as a child even as you grow up. Rihanna came out when she was 17 wearing crop tops and tight pants. Miley was harshly criticized for that same thing when she was 18. It's tough having people see you as a kid when you're ready to be done with that.

Before, people knew you as being part of a group. How do you want people to identify you as an artist now? My identity as an artist is a never ending question. Before it was about merging and compromising as a unit. Now it's really more about the music and the adventure that is finding new ways to express it. Without another person's input, I work even harder to find what the next direction is.

Tell us about your new single, “Red,” and the meaning behind it? Red is an exploration of the circle of life. It came about after Amy Winehouse's passing. Michael Jackson had just passed as well and it seemed like a lot of death was going around. People were literally dropping dead and it made me feel so mortal. There's always the light side though. People die and they're replaced with newborns who carry the future. It's never all bad. That's what Red is about. Hope and love. What do you want to do differently this time in your music career that you didn’t do before? I want to find a team that truly gets it and stick with them. That's the key for me right now.

Are you working on any upcoming projects at the moment? I'm working with an amazing team of producers in the studio. We're already discussing another music video. What advice can you give to people wanting to start a career in music? My advice is: educate yourself. Become a writer, learn Protools, play an instrument, pay attention to marketing.

You can't just get by with a voice anymore. You truly have to be the entire package.

Starting a band is easy.

Having talented musicians

come together to jam during

practice doesn't seem too challenging. Yet having a band

stay together may be one of

the hardest tasks in a band. But

having a band stay together with great chemistry is even

harder. For Canto, they defeat

the odds when it comes to

forming a GREAT band. These three brothers, though young in

age, definitely don't show it

when they're doing what they do

best, making music.

Now, Canto has worked hard to present to their fans their new album, "Ha Ha Ha," which Seamus gets credit for the name. Though the album was recorded, mixed and mastered in the span of three days, there are no shortcomings when it comes to this record. With the privilege of going back later to the studio with record producer & engineer Bryan Carlstrom, Canto delivers a mighty punch with their music. With being featured on MTVU this summer, this up and coming band proves they have what it takes to succeed to the next level. We got a chance to catch up with the band, check it out!

Who came up with the title of your new album, “Ha Ha Ha” and what was the inspiration behind it? The album was recorded before it had a title. We tossed around some ideas, when Seamus thought up of “Ha Ha Ha.” It sort of encompasses the playful, but sometimes sarcastic or the joke is on you” attitude that a lot of the album suggests.

How was the process like recording your latest album, “ Ha Ha Ha.” Fast. The whole thing was recorded and mixed in three days, but it was a lot of fun being able to do it. It was a new experience for us in a lot of ways and we learned a lot. We later went into the studio with Bryan Carlstrom to fix up some stuff on it, which was also really cool.

Who writes the songs in the group? Or do you guys collectively contribute in the songwriting process? Seamus is the principle songwriter, but a lot of it is a collaborative effort. Most of the song writing comes about by just jamming and messing around.

Tell us about your first single off your album, Farewell Well Well,” and the meaning behind it? We chose it as the single because we thought it was the most representative track of the album. It’s mostly about a friend sort of falling off the deep-end, so to speak.

Can you tell us about your music video for Farewell Well Well and how the idea of the boxing match came about? The video was so much fun to do and another really good learning experience for us. We like boxing, so we wanted it to be in there somehow.

What’s been the most enjoyable thing being in a band with your brothers? And the hardest thing? It’s really easy to work with each other and communicate ideas. The “sibling-sixth-sense” really helps with song writing. One of us can literally say, “play that one tune that sounds like the color blue” and the other will know exactly what he’s talking about. As far as the hardest thing, there aren’t really any problems. What is the overall goal for Canto? To make good music that we enjoy playing and that others enjoy listening too.

Who are some of your influences today? Musically, almost too many to name. To name a few, we listen to a lot of Arctic Monkeys, Muse, Queens of the Stone Age, The Strokes, Kings of Leon, TV on the Radio, and a million others. What do you guys do for fun when not working on music? We like to do a lot of out-doors and sports

stuff, but we also like going out on the town with friends and what-not. Normal youngster shenanigans. What advice can you give to other up and coming young artists today that want to start a career in music? Stay focused on what needs to get done. After that, the fun starts.

Ebon Lurks enjoys what he does but like every artist, there are times when the road to success can become quite challenging. Yet for Ebon, he thanks his fans because they continue to help him carry and continue to make great music. His Lurkers, which is the name given to his fans, mean the world to Ebon and hopes that they can relate to every single that he puts out.

I would have to say Ariana Grande. Tell us about your journey of being an artist? Having Fun? What's been challenging? It's fun because you know everyone knows you and you're doing what you love as work, but there are times when I feel like giving up but my Fans help me carry on! A lot of artists today have made a good career going down that independent route. Are you looking to get signed sometime in the future or stick to being independent for now? I would like to get signed. When did you start accumulating all this success on YouTube? And when did the idea first come for you to start putting your videos on YouTube?

Everything started to go well for me about last year but I've always had the idea to put stuff up on YouTube I just never had the time. Tell us about your fans and how much they mean to you? I call my fans the "Lurkers" haha but they mean the world to me!

Tell us about school! What grade are you in? Looking at any colleges? Do you have any other career aspirations besides singing? I'm a Junior at the Brokrn Arrow senior Highschool, and I plan to go to college hopefully for Baseball.

If you could meet someone from the past, who would it be and why? My parents just to see what they were like as when I was a child, I miss then a lot R.I.P

Are you working on an album soon? Not right now, but soon.

What do you want your fans to get from listening to your music? I want them to be able to relate to every single song I do!
