Please join us as we celebrate the completion of the McKelvey Ball Park and Schaefer Park flood detention project.

Valley Water’s Permanente Creek Flood Projection Project reached a major milestone with the completion of the McKelvey Ball Park flood detention basin. McKelvey Ball Park was built as a dual-purpose facility, providing flood protection to downstream neighborhoods and recreational space for residents. Among the key project benefits are two baseball fields, a community room, an enhanced park and playground areas.

Valley Water, City of Mountain View, Mountain View California Little League and the neighboring community will gather together to officially dedicate the park and witness the ceremonial first pitch.

When fully completed, the Permanente Creek Flood Protection Project will provide flood protection to approximately 2,200 properties in Mountain View and Los Altos, saving many residents thousands of dollars on flood insurance each year. The project also reduces flood risk to those without flood insurance.

The Permanente Creek Flood Protection Project is funded by the voter-approved Safe, Clean Water and Natural Flood Protection Program.

When:Saturday, February 29, 2020 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
