50-YEAR CLASS REUNION50-YEAR CLASS REUNIONCELEBRATING THE CLASSES OF 1970 & 1971CELEBRATING THE CLASSES OF 1970 & 1971

YOU’RE INVITEDYOU’RE INVITED

OCT. 31 - NOV. 6

DEAR CLASSMATES,Believe it or not, five decades have passed since you graduated from the University of Arizona. That’s something to celebrate! And a fun, COVID-safe 50th Homecoming celebration is exactly what we have planned for you.

Homecoming is a magical time to return to campus to rekindle that Wildcat spirit and take our place as honored heritage keepers with a class gift. You may discover that the campus and the university have changed in the past 50 years, but our enduring Arizona traditions continue to bind us together as Wildcats.

This 50th year reunion will be one for the record books. Because of concerns fostered by COVID-19, the Class of 1970, which did not have an on-campus reunion last year, will join forces this year with the Class of 1971. Together we will have opportunities to attend traditional homecoming events, Oct. 31–Nov. 6. We may even see unexpected friends from that era and share stories of those wonderful years together.

Just to get you thinking about your years on campus, do you remember that in 1970 Paul McCartney

announced that the Beatles were breaking up, or that 18-year-olds were granted the right to vote? And do you recall that in 1971 Apollo 14 landed on the moon and the year’s most popular song was “Joy to the World” by Three Dog Night? This will also be a time to remember our days on campus and the events that impacted many of our lives in profound ways — Vietnam, campus unrest, the struggle for civil rights, and the coming of age of our generation.

We all can look back on our experiences at the university with an understanding of the importance of those years on our development and for providing a foundation for our life’s work and success.

Our reunion provides each of us an opportunity to return to a place which truly was our alma mater and to reflect on those special years and feel a true sense of personal accomplishment and gratitude.

Join us for reunion events, Nov. 4-6, to celebrate and to play a part in what promises to be a memorable time.
