Hours of OperationDeWitt YMCA camp is held at Northpointe Community Church in DeWitt.Camp is Monday through Friday from 9am-4pm.You can drop your campers off as early as 7:30am and pick up as late at 5:30pm.

Age Appropriate ActivitiesAll summer camp programs have been designed with your child in mind. Campers are grouped with those of similar ages and participate in activities that are appropriate for their age group.

Financial AssistanceCamp scholarships for camps are available for those who qualify. We want every kid to have the opportunity to experience camp! For information or to apply please contact:

Camper ExpectationsCampers are expected to treat others in a respectful manner. Actions deemed physically or emotionally harmful to oneself or another camper are subject to immediate dismissal. This includes inappropriate or aggressive physical contact and repeated hurtful words. Campers should all have the opportunity to grow personally, develop a positive self image, learn to appreciate diversity, feel safe, feel accepted and have FUN.

Safe EnvironmentParents trust us with their most precious possession, their children, and we take that very seriously. Staff members are trained in safety procedures for each activity, risk management principles and child abuse detection and prevention strategies.

Highest Quality StaffThe YMCA camp staff is highly trained and very committed. References and past work experiences are thoroughly checked. Criminal checks and drug screenings are conducted prior to hiring. We employ hard working young men and women who are dedicated, experienced, responsible, enthusiastic, positive and fun! All staff members are trained in CPR and Basic First Aid.

How to RegisterSummer programs fill quickly, so register early. You can register online, by phone, in person, or by mail. Only applications which are completed in full, signed and accompanied by the appropriate fees will be processed. Online registrations require payment by credit card. Registration/health forms must be completed and signed before attending camp.

Day Camp (full day/full week) at the DeWitt YMCA provides kids (age 5-12) a chance to grow, learn and explore in a safe and structured environment. Not only will our camp experience allow kids to have fun and make memories, Day Camp will help kids learn socialization skills, grow in confidence, learn how to take appropriate risks in a safe setting, and learn leadership skills. Kids will have opportunities to unleash their imagination, in countless ways, in a nurturing environment with trained Y staff. There will be weekly themes, and when campers aren’t diving deep into theme related activities….campers will also be able to play indoor and outdoor games, including water games. There will be opportunities for art and music. Our host site for the 2019 Day Camp is Northpointe Community Church in DeWitt – they have spacious facilities to accommodate everything campers need for a great Day Camp experience with the YMCA!

Head Chef in Training! Your child will be taught concepts of health and nutrition, kitchen science and have fun with food related crafts. Different recipes will be offered each day, and campers will have the opportunity to expand their pallets.

Silly ScienceYour child will get down and dirty while making interesting discoveries by experimenting with the yucky, weird substances that you know and love. Experiments will include making Slime, making a volcano and more.

Art of ImaginationCampers will be able to use their creativity and imagination to explore dance, theatre, and arts. Art isn’t just an indoor activity, as campers will be doing projects both inside and out! Prepare to get messy this week and let your imagination and creativity run free!

Silly SportsThis week is all about crazy and silly sports such as pin dodge, bucket brigade, and minute to win it games that campers and counselors will create throughout the week. Campers put on your creative thinking caps and prepare to have a fun, silly week!

Harry PotterAre you a brave Gryffindor, a witty Ravenclaw, a caring Hufflepuff, or a sneaky Slytherin? Come one come all Potter-heads, this is the camp for you! You will do everything Harry Potter this week from Quidditch to potions class, and maybe meet some fantastic beasts, or powerful wizards along the way! So get ready to be sorted and enter the magical world of Harry Potter.

Outdoor ExplorerCampers will build shelters, forage for food, learn to collect clean water, and how to build a fire. We will spend the rest of the week practicing the survival skills we’ve learned.

Drama Camp Campers will learn what it takes to put on a true performance from set design to costume selection. Groups will write their own script, choreograph their own moves in order to put on a performance on Friday.

Wacky Water Pack an extra towel this week because we are going to get soaked! Campers will play a variety of water games including, drip drip drop, bucket brigade and water balloon volleyball.

Game Show Network Come on down, you’re the next contestant on DeWitt Y’s show of the week! Campers will have the opportunity to playfully compete in their favorite game show challenges. They will try their hands at Name That Tune, shake their tails in Minute To Win It, test their counselors knowledge in Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader and many more.
