English - Writing Brainstorm as many things as you can that start with the sound /x/. Complete alphabet scrapbook ‘x’ page (tracing letters and colouring pictures). Use your magic words to write sentences that include a /x/ word e.g. The fox sat in the box. Xavier had an x-ray.

Science and Technology Watch the materials song.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2SeKyEH9GRU Cut up and put back together Material Jigsaws. Complete each puzzle with a family member. (There are 6 puzzles, each with 4 pieces.) Identify what is the same about all the objects represented in each puzzle. The materials include: fabric, paper, wood, plastic, glass and metal. Look at the Jack and the Beanstalk (Made Differently!) PowerPoint. Pause every time an object which is described as being made of an inappropriate material is identified. Talk about why the material would not suit the purpose. With a family member play 'What Am I?' game to focus on materials such as fabric, paper, wood, plastic, glass and metal e.g. if the material were metal, provide several clues such as: I am cold to touch. I am shiny and heavy. I am often used to make jewellery.

Creative Arts Cut out the parts of the zebra using the Zebra template provided. Using black pencil or texta give the zebras stripes. Stick the zebra together using glue. Stick on googly eyes or draw eyes on your zebra. Using black string, give your zebra a tail and a mane. Cut out 4 circles for finger holes using scissors (or whole punch). Your fingers go through the holes and mimic the zebra legs!

Personal Development and Health Watch the video of Mrs Humphries talking to Kindergarten about being safe in our homes and at school (e.g. bathroom, kitchen, bedrooms, classroom). Go for a “safety hunt”, looking around the house for safe and unsafe places. Think about places you have been hurt in your home or at school. Take photos to put into your books. ● Talk about house rules

and why we have them. ● What feelings and

thoughts are you having after hearing Mrs Humphries’ concern?
