It’s that time of year again when we at Superior Tray Systems, think about how 2016 progressed. We want to thank everyone for all of your support and hard work. This year was our 20th anniversary celebration and we celebrated it in style as we introduced the High Bus, our newest addition to the family, at the IEEE PES T&D Conference and Expo in Dallas and at the NECA Show in Boston. We added more engineers to our team,

started a blog and became more active on social media as well. This was, of course, all in addition to designing and manufacturing custom-engineered electrical distribution solutions for our customers. It’s been a busy year for us and we anticipate that 2017 will see us expand our team further as we serve new markets and grow further as a company....

TOP 3 TIPS FOR KEEPING WARM THIS WINTER1) Wear layers and avoid cotton: The layers help to insulate you better than a large poofy jacket and base layers made of materials like Merino wool are pricey, but worth the investment. Cotton, on the other hand, dries slowly and allows heat to escape more quickly.

2) Drink and eat more: This tip is perfect for the holiday season, as it can be difficult to avoid Christmas goodies both in the office and at home. Your body is burning through more fuel and you can become dehydrated more easily in cold and dry conditions.

3) Keep your car stocked for emergencies: Keep warm blankets, water, shelf-stable and calorie rich foods, disposable heat packs, and extra sets of dry clothes in your car, just in case. You want to be prepared if you’re stuck in the middle of a storm.

Who doesn’t like hot chocolate cake? Nobody, that’s who. Here’s our recipe for a warm and gooey lava cake that can be gobbled down in less than 2 minutes.

Ingredients:1 ounce bittersweet chocolate1 ounce semisweet chocolate 1 1/4 stick of butter1/2 cup all-purpose flour1 1/4 cups confectioners’ sugar2 large eggs3 egg yolks1 teaspoon vanilla extract2 tablespoons orange liquor

Instructions:Preheat the oven to 425°F. Grease four custard cups and place on a baking sheet.

Microwave the butter, bittersweet chocolate and semisweet chocolate in a large bowl on high until the butter is melted, about 1 minute. Whisk until the chocolate is also melted. Stir in the sugar until well blended. Whisk in the eggs and egg yolks, then add the vanilla. Stir in the flour. Divide the mixture among the custard cups.

Bake until the sides are firm and the centers are soft, about 13 minutes. Let stand 1 minute. Invert on individual plates while warm and serve.
