DISTRIBUTION
The way in which people are spread out across the Earth’s surface. Distribution
is uneven and changes over time.
DEFINITION 2: POPULATION
DENSITY
The number of people living per square kilometre (km2). It is found by dividing the
total population of a place by its area (km2).
National figures range from 19,000 people per km2 (Monaco) to 0.13 per km2 in Greenland!
