Introduction

This year at Mary Immaculate Primary School Year 4 have been looking at the topic CREATION. We’ve also been studying the topic OUTER SPACE in our science classes which can be connected to creation in some ways or another. So, Mrs Hughes & Mrs Shearman (Year 4 teachers at Mary Immaculate) decided to join the 2 topics together.

Page 4: Year 4 Religious Literacy 5

The Meaning of Creation

The word CREATION means to make something or bring something into existence.

Page 5: Year 4 Religious Literacy 5

Who Is God?

God is the father of all Christianity. He is Lord almighty, creator of heaven & Earth. God is the founder & leader of a religion for Christians. All Christians believe in Him, pray to Him, thank Him for the planet we live on & praise for our Glory.

God as CreatorGod as Creator

God is a respectful & meaningful spirit. God created everything beautiful for a reason, so even the world’s fiercest beasts are functional. God made the 1st humans on earth like Himself for a reason. The reason was so that humans were able to do what He could. Today, humans are on top of the food chain so they could look after the rest of God’s creations, but they are not doing so as commanded. So, people need to persuade others to do what God put them on the Earth to do, to look after our blessed environment.

Recycling is another strong way we could care for God’s creations. Recycling will make a difference through: the garbage that you think is useless, instead of just throwing it away & just stand there & let it harm other living creatures, try to use it again or sort it out into different piles (recycle it).

Part 2 no. 3

Switching to a power source that doesn’t provide greenhouse gases is the final & most effective way out of my 3 favourites to take care of God’s creations. Nuclear gases effect the environment by killing Mother Nature & releasing their poison into the air. It can also effect humans as well. It can effect us by the air. Don’t you know that we breath in the air & breath it all out again except for the oxygen & that the poison in the gases can effect our health?

Day 1 of the Creation Story

Long, long ago, there was no world, no sky, no sun or stars, not even any day or night. There was only swirling water in a formless & desolate area. Then God commanded “Let there be light!” and light appeared. God called the light ‘Day’ & the darkness ‘Night.’ Morning passed & evening came, & that was the 1st day.

Genesis 1: 1-5

Page 15: Year 4 Religious Literacy 5

Day 2 of the Creation Story

On the 2nd day of creation, God made a dome to separate the light from darkness. He called the dome ‘sky’. Morning passed & evening came, & that was the 2nd day.

Genesis 1: 6-8

Page 16: Year 4 Religious Literacy 5

Day 3 of the Creation Story

On the 3rd day of creation, God made the land, the seas & the plants & trees. God was sick of just the swirling water on the Earth, so He commanded “Let there be dry land!” and dry land rose from beneath the swirling tides. The tides suddenly rose, it soon was going to gain over the land. God collected some of the water so the tides would go back to it’s normal height. God then made boundaries for the tides. He called the boundaries ‘sea’. God turned back to the land & thought that it was a little bit pain. So God commanded “Let the land produce all sorts of plants & trees!”. Morning passed & evening came, & that was the 3rd day.

Genesis 1: 9-13

Page 17: Year 4 Religious Literacy 5

Day 4 of the Creation Story

On the 4th day of creation, God made the sun, moon & stars. God made a large, hot ball & placed it into the day sky. He called the large hot ball ‘Sun’. God then made another ball but smaller this time, & not as hot. He placed that ball into the night sky. God named the smaller ball ‘Moon’. God also made even smaller balls & He placed them in the night sky as well to keep the moon company. God called one even smaller ball ‘Star’ but when He was speaking about all of the even smaller balls, He called them ‘Stars’. Morning passed & evening came, & that was the 4th day.

Day 5 of the Creation StoryDay 5 of the Creation Story

On the 5th day of creation, God made the creatures that fill the On the 5th day of creation, God made the creatures that fill the land & sky today. God was staring & admiring the land & land & sky today. God was staring & admiring the land & sky He had made a few days ago. God thought ‘ The dry sky He had made a few days ago. God thought ‘ The dry land is a wonderful creation to create but it is still missing land is a wonderful creation to create but it is still missing something even though there are wild plants! I know what something even though there are wild plants! I know what is missing! The land is missing LIFE!.’ So God started to is missing! The land is missing LIFE!.’ So God started to think of new land & air creatures. When He thought of think of new land & air creatures. When He thought of enough species of animals, God exclaimed “Let the land & enough species of animals, God exclaimed “Let the land & sky be filled with all sorts of creatures that have the ability sky be filled with all sorts of creatures that have the ability to roam the Earth!” & creatures appeared in the sky & to roam the Earth!” & creatures appeared in the sky & land. Morning passed & evening came, that was the 5th land. Morning passed & evening came, that was the 5th day.day.

Day 6 of the Creation StoryDay 6 of the Creation Story

On the 6th & final day of creation, God made humans. God On the 6th & final day of creation, God made humans. God was worried that no one was going to take care of all His was worried that no one was going to take care of all His creations. Then, suddenly an idea popped into God’s creations. Then, suddenly an idea popped into God’s head. The idea was to create a creature that can do all head. The idea was to create a creature that can do all the abilities God. himself could do. God picked up a the abilities God. himself could do. God picked up a handful of dust & shaped it into a shape of a male handful of dust & shaped it into a shape of a male human being & breathed through it. God called the him human being & breathed through it. God called the him ‘Adam.’ God didn’t want Adam to be lonely so God made ‘Adam.’ God didn’t want Adam to be lonely so God made a female human being. God called her ‘Eve.’ God told a female human being. God called her ‘Eve.’ God told them to have many children. So that’s why when we die them to have many children. Day 7 of the Creation Story

On the 7th day of creation, God rested. God thought ‘All I’ve made in the past 6 days are all very very good.’ God blessed the 7th day of the week as a holy day of rest because He Himself rested on the 7th day of the week after creating everything.
