Artificial Intelligence is a branch of Science which deals with helping machines find solutions to complex problems in a more human-like fashion. AI is generally associated with Computer Science, but it has many important links with other fields such as Maths, Psychology, Cognition, Biology and Philosophy, among many others. Our ability to combine knowledge from all these fields will ultimately benefit our progress in the quest of creating an intelligent artificial being.

Touch ScreenA Touchscreen is a display which can detect the location of touches within the display area.

A basic touch screen has three main components: a touch sensor, a controller, and a software driver. The touch screen is an input device, so it needs to be combined with a display and a PC or other device to make a complete touch input system.

A touch screen sensor is a clear glass panel with a touch responsive surface.The touch sensor/panel is placed over a display screen so that the responsive area of the panel covers the viewable area of the video screen.

The controller is a small PC card that connects between the touch sensor and the PC. It takes information from the touch sensor and translates it into information that PC can understand.

The driver is a software update for the PC system that allows the touch screen and computer to work together.

Two main types of touchscreen products, touchscreen add-ons and integrated touchscreen monitors. Touchscreen add-ons are touchscreen panels that hang over an existing computer monitor. Integrated touchscreen monitors are computer displays that have the touchscreen built-in. Both product types work in the same way, basically as an input device like a mouse or trackpad.

Development of Touch Screens :

Virtually all of the significant touchscreen technology patents were filed during the 1970s and 1980s and have expired. Touchscreen component manufacturing is in such a way that it is enabled to display on all kinds of devices is widespread.

These devices also allow multiple users to interact with the touchscreen simultaneously

Even without computer knowledge a person can operate easily.Time saving in busy areas like ATM’s, public restaurants, general enquiry at railway stations airports , etc.,.

The touch screen interface is being used in a wide variety of applications to improve human-computer interaction.

Stress on human fingers when used for more than a few minutes at a time, since significant pressure can be required and the screen is non-flexible.

Some items can sometimes be problematic depending on the desired use case

Clarity regarding these touch screens depending on type of touch screens varies for example:-resistive type provides 75%capacitive type provides 90% surface acoustic wave type provides 99% compare to other types

So the artificial intelligence is applicable to above mentioned applications. Researchers are doing research works on artificial intelligence up to extended level. Artificial intelligence is applicable to real world entity to solve the problems and difficulties of intelligent machines as possible.
