Before You Start•Disconnectnegativebatteryterminal.Consultaqualifiedtechnicianforinstructions.•Avoidinstallingtheunitwhereitwouldbesubjecttohightemperatures,suchasfromdirectsunlight,orwhereitwouldbesubjecttodust,dirtorexcessivevibration.

Getting Started•Removetrimringfromunit,•Remove2transitscrewslocatedontopoftheunit.•Insertthesuppliedkeysintotheslotsasshown,andslidetheunitoutofthemountingsleeve.•Installmountingsleeveintoopening,bendingtabstosecure.•Connectwiringharnessand antenna.Consultaqualified technicianifyouareunsure.•Certainvehiclesmayrequireaninstallationkitand/orwiring harnessadapter(soldseparately).•Testforcorrectoperationandslideintomountingsleevetosecure.•Snaptrimringintoplace.

Press OPENtofolddownthefrontpanel,thenpullawayfromthebottomtoremove.Tore-install,slideintherightsideofthebottomofthefrontpanelfirst,thensnaptheleftsideintoplaceandfoldup.

Removetrimringandinstalltwosupplied#1x7/32”Phillipsheadscrewsthroughbothofmountingframeintofaceplate.

Press oranyotherbuttontoturntheuniton.Pressandholdtoturntheunitoff.

Press MODEtoselectbetweenAM/FM,CDplayer,USB,auxiliaryinput,iPodandBluetooth.Modesofoperationareindicatedinthedisplay.

Note:CD,USBandiPodmodeswillnotappearunlessaCD,USBdeviceoriPodareinserted.

Inserta3.5mmconnectorinthefrontpanelAUXport.Connecttheotherendofthe3.5mmconnectortotheheadphoneoutputofanaudiodevice,MP3player,etc.PressMODEtoselectAUXmode.

ThesteeringwheelinterfaceinputlocatedonthebackoftheheadunitallowsconnectiontothePacific Accessory Corporation SWI-PSinterfacemodule(soldseparately).Visitwww.pac-audio.comfordetails.

Toconfiguresteeringwheelcontrols,followtheinstructionsprovidedwiththePAC SWI-PSinterfacemodule.Afterinstallingtheinterfacemodule,insertthemodule's3.5mmjackintotheportonthebackoftheheadunit.

Adjustvolumeusingvolumeknob(00-46).

Press     tosilencetheaudio.“MUTE”willflashinthedisplay.Press   againtocancel.

PressandholdEQ for3seconds toenterEQsetupmenu,thenusethevolumeknobtoselectbetweenPOP,JAZZ,CLASSIC,BEAT,ROCKandFLAT(default)equalizationcurves.AnyadjustmenttotheBassorTreblesettingsautomaticallycancelsthecurrentEQcurve(ifoneisselected).

Press DISPtoselectbetweenclockanddifferenttypesofinformation,suchasradiofrequency,CDtrackorMP3/USBsonginformation.

Withtheuniton,pressandholdDISPuntiltheclockbeginstoflash,thenrelease.PressTUNE nntoadjustthehoursandTUNE lltoadjusttheminutes.PressDISP momentarilytosavetheselectedtime.

Press to RESETtheunituponinitialinstallationorifabnormaloperationoccurs.Resetbuttonislocatedbehindthefaceplate.

Tosetthesourcevolumelevel,pressAUD•MENU until SOURCELEVELappears.Afteronesecond,thecurrentmodewillappearonthedisplay.Turnthevolumeknobtoadjusttheaudiolevelofthecurrentsource(-6minimum/+6maximum).

Thefollowingtuningfunctionswillaccessbothanaloganddigitalstations.RefertotheHD SEEK mode sectiononpage10forinstructionsontuningtoonlydigitalstations.

Press TUNE nn or TUNE llformorethanonesecondtoseekthenextstrongstation.

WhenanHDRadiostationisselected,anHDRadiologowillbegintoflashonthedisplay.Inaboutfiveseconds,HDorHD1willilluminateaftertheradiofrequency.

•If"HD"appears,theradiostationisbroadcastingahigher qualitysound.Noadditionalstationsareavailable.

•If"HD1"appears,additionalmulticastchannels(HD2 and/orHD3)areavailable.PressTUNE ll to tune to otheravailablemulticastchannels.

Press TUNE nn or TUNE ll momentarilytomoveradiofrequencyupordownonestepatatime.

Press SCNmomentarilytopreviewstrongstationsonthecurrentband,pausingforfivesecondsateach.PressSCN againtocancel.

Press BANDtoselectbetweenFM1,FM2,FM3,AM1andAM2bands.Uptosixpresetscanbeprogrammedforeachband.

Upto18FMstationsand12AMstationscanbestored.includingHDRadiostationsandmulticastchannels.Tostoreastation,selectthedesiredbandandstation.Pressandholdthedesiredpresetbutton(1-6)formorethantwoseconds.Whenstored,thepresetnumberwillappearinthedisplay.Thestationcanberecalledbypressingthecorrespondingpresetbutton.

•  Storing and Recalling Station Presets HDRadiomulticaststations(HD2andHD3)canalso bestoredaspresets.Whenapresetmulticaststation isrecalled,"LINKING"appearsinthedisplayuntilthe downloadprocessiscomplete(approximately5seconds).

  Note:IftheHDRadiosignalonthepresetisunavailable, theunitrevertstothepreviousanalogordigitalstation.

•Automatically Store Only HD Radio Stations WhileinHDSEEKmode,pressandholdAUD•MENU to enterthesetupmenu.ChoosetheAUTOSTOREmenu optionandpressSELECTtobeginautomaticallystoring thefirst6HDRadiostationstopresets1-6.

Note:SinceallHDRadiostationsthatblendtodigitalareconsidered'strong'stations,theAutoStationStorefeaturewillstorethefirst6HDRadiostations,beginningfromthelowestfrequency.Multicastchannels(HD2and/orHD3)arenotautomaticallystoredwiththisfeature,butcanbestoredbyholdingthedesiredpresetnumber(1-6)for3seconds.

TheiTunesTaggingfeatureoftheXHD7714allowstheuserto"Tag"songsthatareplayingonHDRadio™stationsandenablesthemtobepurchasedlaterthroughiTunes®.Withthetouchofabuttontheunitwillrememberthetitleandartistsonginformation,andthentransferthatinformationtoyouriPod®thenexttimeyouconnectittotheXHD7714usingthesupplied2-wirecable.Anewlistcalled"Tagged"willappeariniTunes,givingyoutheoptiontopurchaseeachsong.

TunetoanHDRadiostation.TheHDlogointhedisplaymustlightupsolid-indicatingthatadigitalstationistuned.Ifthesonghasvalidartistandsongtitleinformation,theTAGbuttonwillturnred.

PresstheTAGbutton.SONGTAGGEDwillappearinthedisplay,followedbythecurrentnumberofTagsinmemory.ThesonginformationwillbesavedinmemoryuntilaniPodispluggedin.Upto127TagscanbesavedbeforetheymustbetransferredtoaniPod,ordeleted.

PluginaniPod.ThecurrentTagsinmemorywillbeautomaticallytransferredtotheiPodandtheTagswillbedeletedfromtheheadunit'smemory.

IfaniPodispluggedinwhenasongistagged,theTagwillbeimmediatelytransferredtotheiPod.(seepage12foriPodcompatibility)

SyncwithiTunes.Alistnamed"Tagged"willappearontheleftintheiTunessoftware.Clickonthe"Tagged"listtoviewallthesongsthathavebeentaggedandclickthe"view"buttonforpurchaseinformation.

ToviewthecurrentnumberofsavedTagsinmemory,pressandholdTAGfor3seconds.ThecurrentnumberofsavedTagswillappearalongwiththetotal(127).

TodeleteallthesavedtagswithouttransferringthemtoaniPod,pressAUD•MENUfor3secondstoenterthesetupmenufromtunermode.RotatethevolumeknobuntilDELETETAGSappears,thenpressSELECT.Aconfirmationmessagewillappear.
