• From the main menu, click on Order Entry.• To obtain a quote, enter selections for a Commodity,

Month and Year. Note that the quote format is the sameprice format used to enter the order. Never use decimalpoints.

• LMT Price is for STWL orders only. For a normal LMT, ll inthe Price eld.

• For options, enter the strike price in the Strike eld, and“P” for put or “C” for call in the P/C eld.

• Good Through Date (GTD) should be left blank for dayorders, or lled in with “CANCEL” for open or GTD orders.Enter an order cancel data in the “yyyymmdd” format.

Determining the price format accepted for aparticular commoditySimply obtain a quote on a particular commodity contract and note the format of that quote when placingthe actual order for that commodity.

The following error message may appear when placing an order:

Error, you must enter “J ” or “ZB” or “Y ”, etc. instead of “JY” or “US” or “EC”, etc.

To resolve this error, simply use the Globex symbols instead of the open outcry symbols. MF Global requirescustomers to trade CME Globex currencies, NYMEX Globex energies, COMEX Globex metals, CBOT Globexgrains and CBOT Globex bonds unless entering an option or a spread.

Using the Xpress Line

From the Order Entry screen: Users who are familiar with older typing order entry programs can use theXpress line to place an order, using the following format:

Transaction <space> quantity <space> contractmonthyear <space> price <space> order type

For example, to Buy June mini S&P at LMT, type:b esm lmt

When orders are entered correctly, the order elds above will automatically be lled in and a quote willappear below the Xpress line.

Where to view, cancel or cancelreplace orders

From the Activity Updated screen:

Cancel All Orders or Cancel For Account

• From the main menu, click on View > Orders. Ordernumbers, status, positions, etc. can be viewed from thisscreen.

• To cancel or cancel replace an order, simply right-click onthe order and select Cancel Order or Replace Order.

• Orders can also be cancelled by selecting /highlighting itand clicking the Cancel Order button below. To cancel allorders at once, click the Cancel All Orders button.

click the check box for Details to see each ll as its ownposition or ( ) click the check box for Summary to seeactual position. For example, if an individual buys ESUand sells ESU , using Details it will appear as long

ESU and Short ESU with a P&L for each ll. UsingSummary it will appear as short ESU^ and with thetotal P&L

• If Summary is blank for a particular contract, thenthe individual is at in that contract. If Summary iscompletely blank, there are no positions.

• Orders can be placed using Details by right-clicking onthe positions to offset or reverse and then selectingOffset or Reverse.

• To view positions only and not orders, click the PositionsOnly check box. To view orders only and not positions,click the Hide Positions check box.

Viewing Funds

On the left side of the screen there is a box for Funds. To view balances, click View, then Balances from themain menu. To view the funds in different currencies, use the drop-down box on the left side of the screen tomake a selection. The currencies will appear on separate lines in the Balances window.

Setting up streamingquotes and market depth

Q shortcut menu forStreaming Quotes

• From the main menu, click Quotes > Streaming Quotes.• Each quote will appear in its own box. At the top of a quote

box is either “Empty” or the contract symbol. Click onEmpty or the contract symbol and enter a new contractcode using the format “codemonthyear”. For example, forE-mini S&P March , enter ESH ; for electronic yrbonds June , enter ZBM .

• To view all quotes in real-time, click View > Quotes >Streaming Quotes. You can also access this screen byclicking on Streaming Quotes from the Q icon underneaththe main menu.

• To view quotes spreadsheet-style or to view the bid ask,click View > Quotes > Combined Quotes.

• To view market depth, click View > Quotes > MarketDepth. To view quotes on the Market Depth screen, theymust be set up as streaming quotes. Market depth isonly for electronically-traded markets. Electronic con-tracts that have been set up for streaming quotes will beaccessible in the drop-down menu towards the bottom ofthe Market Depth screen. After selecting the contract ormarket, it may take a minute or so for the informationto appear.

Subscribing to streaming quotes

• From the main menu, click Setup > Services > Charts, Newsand Market Data.

• Scroll through the list of available exchange subscriptions.Make selections by clicking on the subscription checkboxes and clicking on the Add or Update buttons.

• A user agreement/disclaimer will appear. Click on thecheck box to indicate you have read and agreed to the

stated terms. You will then return to the Charts and NewsServices screen.

• The CME Globex, NYMEX Globex, COMEX Globex andCBOT Globex subscriptions are currently free. To viewopen outcry /pit-traded contracts, subscribe to theexchange where those contracts are listed.

NYMEX, COMEX and all ICE/NYBOT) charge per quote.For example, if there are three NYBOT quotes on thepage, the charge will be three times the per quotecost every time the page is refreshed. If an optionschain is viewed, there will be a charge for each andevery single quote, including for the strikes that arenot currently trading.

Price AlertsFrom the main menu, click on Setup, Preferences, then Price Alerts. Alerts are available only for

contracts that are currently set up with streaming quotes. Select a contract from the Contract List,

enter the price at which the alert should activate, and select whether to be alerted when the price

is greater or less than the specied price. There can only be one price alert set up per contract.

Pricing spreadsFrom the main menu, click on Order Entry. Select Spread to view the order as a spread, then click Submit.The nearby (or front) month is always the top line on the spread. The price will always be on the top line ofthe spread. If the deferred month is trading higher, the price must be indicated as negative. For an evenspread, enter “EVEN”.

Setting Up Preferences

Fills/Cancel Notication allows you to select how to benotied on lls and cancels. Pop-up and audible alerts areavailable, but only one can be activated at a time.

Default Order Ticket Button allows you to select Transmit orAbort as a default option. This setting will be activated whenyou press Enter on your keyboard.

Default Quantity allows you to set a default quantity andorder type on an order ticket. The default values can bemodied on the actual order ticket. To view the loading screenat login, click the Show Progress check box under Data. You canalso select customer accounts and data to appear at login byselecting Accounts at Login and Data at Login.

Order Entry Defaults allow you to set default Product,Quantity, Month, Year and Order Type to appear on the OrderEntry screen. Default values can be modied on the actualorder ticket.

Log Off Time allows you to limit inactive time on MF Global Xpressby setting a time to automatically log off from the system. There isalso an option to Never Log Off and keep the system onindenitely.

Order Conrmation allows you to turn on/off the orderconrmation pop-up that appears within the Market Depth screen.

Turning on the conrmation (by clicking the Market Depth checkbox) is highly recommended for users who are not very familiarwith the Market Depth screen.

Customize Colors allows you to specify the colors used on theActivity Updated screen for orders, lls, etc.

Printing allows you to automatically print ll and/or orders.

Printer allows you to specify a network or local device to print to.

Account Mode lets you choose whether to view orders and llsfor one or all accounts within the Activity Updated screen.

Viewing order historyFrom the main menu, click on Order Entry > Order and Fills History. MF Global Xpress will only save ordersthat were entered from a particular computer. Users should contact their desk/broker to nd out moreinformation about the information saved on the system.

Entering information duringMF Global Xpress downloadWhen prompted for Name, Company and Serial number, simply type in any desired information. The systemjust requires the elds to be lled in for download/setup to continue.

The following error messages may appear: Logon Failed or Cannot Connect to Host.

Logon Failed appears because an incorrect icon, user ID, account number or password may have beenentered. Cannot Connect to Host appears because the computer is being blocked from MF Global Xpress bya rewall. If the computer or network uses Microsoft, McAfee, Norton or another rewall, MF Global Xpressmust be added as an exception or trusted application. Computers on professional networks may need to becongured to access IP address . . . .

Installing MF Global Xpress onWindows VistaTraders who use PCs with Windows Vista and encounter problems during installation should try thefollowing:

Users should contact Trader Support - - - or - - - . If they continue to experienceproblems while installing MF Global Xpress on Windows Vista.

• Save the installation le to the Downloads folder orthe Desktop: Right-click on the installation le. Click on

Properties > Compatibility, and select the options to runthe program in compatibility mode for Windows XP ServicePack . Click Apply, then OK. Run the installation asdirected.

• Restart and try to re-install MF Global Xpress: Click OKwhen the service pack message appears. You will then be

prompted to install the program with the RecommendedSettings. Run the installation as directed.

B/S - This is the transaction. “B” for Buy and “S” for Sell.

Commodity - Refers to the commodity to trade. Select the commodity in the drop-down menu or enter the code.

GTD - Good Through Date. Leave this blank for a day order, and enter “CANCEL” for a GTC or open order. The date should beentered in the format mmddyy.

LMT Price - Refers to the limit price of a stop-with-limit (STWL) order.

Month - Contract expiration or delivery month. Select this from the drop-down menu or enter the code.

P/C - Put or call indicator

Price - Limit price or stop trigger

QTY- Quantity ordered.

Strike - Refers to options strike price.

Type - Refers to order type. Select this from the drop-down menu or enter in the code. Note that not all order types are available inall markets. Customers should clarify the available order types by market with their broker.

Year - The year of the contract expiration/delivery. Select this from the drop-down menu or enter in the code.
