THE STATE OF TEXAS PUBLIC EDUCATION MISSION AND ACADEMIC GOALS
The mission of the public education system of this state is to ensure that all Texas children have access to a quality education that enables them to achieve their potential and fully participate now and the future in the social, economic, and education opportunities of our state and nation. That mission is grounded on the conviction that a general diffusion of knowledge is essential for the welfare of this state and for the preservation of the liberties and rights of citizens. It is further grounded on the conviction that a successful public education system is directly related to a strong, dedicated, and supportive family; and that parental involvement in the school is essential for the maximum educational achievement of a child.

Wylie H.S. Vision Statement Our vision is for all Wylie High School Stakeholders to be unified in the pursuit of excellence and success for our students, both during and beyond high school. Wylie H.S. Mission Statement In partnership with parents and the community, the mission of Wylie High School is to provide a quality education for ALL students, which will develop responsible citizens and prepare them for success beyond high school in the 21st Century. Wylie H.S. Action Statement The Staff of WHS will promote and encourage student success through: 1) building positive relationships with students, parents, and community members, 2) engaging students in quality lessons, and 3) modeling behaviors that we expect to see in our students.

Student Achievement, Curriculum and Instruction and Assessment Ideal State: Wylie High School will provide a learning environment and curriculum that is conducive to higher levels of learning and provides opportunities for all students to experience success.
Objective 1: Wylie High School will analyze student performance, teacher performance, and school effectiveness.
Objective 2: Wylie High School will analyze data to assist in the implementation of curriculum based on clearly-defined expectations for student learning and allocates and protects instructional time to support student learning. Objective 3: Wylie High School will meet AYP for the 2012-2013 school year, by increasing the percentage of students who pass the math EOC as 10
