TORCH RELAY AND RADIO 1- The Torch travelled 8.5 miles through Torbay - one of

longest runs

- Est. 100,000 residents and visitors came out for both events

- Estimated £500,000 boost to the local economy over the weekend

- Torbay Council’s Facebook account saw a 2,460% increase in followers' interactions, likes and comments

- Twitter re-tweets and mentions increased by 1,195%

- Local businesses in Torquay and Paignton reported increase in footfall

Delivered in Partnership with the Police, South Devon College, Fire and Ambulance Services

8,000 local young people had free tickets for Radio 1

JUBILEE WEEKEND

- Double Bank Holiday weekend packed full of activities

- Civic honours ceremony – honoured 60 unsung local heroes

- Vintage car parade – 60 classic cars paraded through the towns

- Many street parties across the Bay

- Kurt Perschke’s Red Ball project in three towns with international profile

- Beacons lit at Daddyhole, Corbyns Head and Berryhead

- Spectacular firework display

- Culminated in Halfords Series at Torre Abbey Meadows

- Geopark Playpark opening at Paignton Green

HALFORDS TOUR SERIES

- Annual series of one hour cycle races around UK locations, televised by ITV4 with approx 500,000 audience reach – Torquay became one of eight locations

- 12,500 attendees estimated expenditure was £188.41 per day for overnight visitors and £91.74 for day visitors

- 94% visitors reported positive experiences at event

- 67 % said they were inspired to cycle more as result of event
