My aim is to audition a number of potential male character who I believe have the potential to play the roles of Amir, Trevor and Michael. I have an idea of how I want all three characters to look and sound and will base my decision on this.

Amir (Main Character)

Out of my two candidates for the role of Amir, I decided to choose Ranvir Jandoo. I feel as if his appearance is suitable for the character of Amir as he is relatively similar to the character of Jay in Kidulthood and Adulthood, played by Adam Deacon. I plan on basing the character of Amir solely on Jay and plan on using similar costume as well. Ranvir Jandoo has worked on similar projects and he is someone I also know and therefore I am also certain that hell be punctual and play the part well. I feel his height will work perfectly, especially in the scene where he meets Trevor as due to Trevor being tall, Amir will look inferior and powerless. This will also help me vary my shots and angles due to the contrasting heights. I know that Ranvir is able to play a serious and emotional character and therefore he will be perfect for the role of Amir. Moreover, Ranvir is 18 years old, which is exactly how old the character Amir is and this is another reason why he suites the role. If I was to change my mind about how old the character Amir is, I could always use mise-en-scene to make him look either older or younger. Ranvir can be seen as a likable anti-hero as he can be seen as a threatening figure and an emotional figure, and this gives the audience a reason to sympathize with him. Finally, Ranvir lives near-by and as all locations are within a mile from his house, using him as my lead becomes more ideal. To conclude, I think that Ranvir fits the criteria to play the role of Amir perfectly.

Trevor

Out of the two characters for the role of Trevor, I decided to choose Marcus Stamp. In my opinion, his appearance fits in well with how I envisioned the character Trevor when I wrote the script. Ive also worked with Marcus in other film projects that Ive done in the past and I know that I can rely on him and also that he is talented enough to play the part. I reckon that Marcus appearance will capture the role well and his features and range of emotion and expression will work to my advantage when filming. Also, as Marcus is 18 and the character of Trevor is 19, he will suite the roll perfectly. I will also have Marcus wear a bandana and cover half of his face to represent him in a stereotypical way. Both Marcus and Keanon are similar in terms of appearance and also are both talented, but I chose to go with Marcus as he also resides near-by which makes it easier for me to plan shooting times at the locations. Overall, I think that Marcus is perfect for the role of Trevor.

Michael

For Michaels character, Ive chosen to use Abidur Rahman. I fell as if his appearance and long black hair fits in with the appearance of the character and the description of a stereotypical victim. Moreover, Abidurs height is also perfect for the role as unlike Aron, he is just a little shorter than Ranvir which allows Ranvir to look superior in the fight scene. Ive also worked in previous projects with Abidur and therefore I will be comfortable with working with Abidur. The role of Michael is the smallest role in the film and he also has no dialogue and therefore filming Michaels part will be a quick process compared to the others. Like the other, Abidur also lives close-by which makes it convenient to plan the shooting days. Overall, I am certain that Abidur is perfect for the role of Michael
