As students we often read stories, articles, essays and a whole variety of texts. And from time to

time, we are asked to produce some kind of written work which is painfully read by our teacher

who is ready to dissect it in the search of mistakes, and only occasionally reluctantly read by some

of our classmates as part of some kind of peer correction activity. And then, most of our

production ends up being lost and forgotten in some dusty folder.

It is as part of a desperate fight for the recovery of these pieces of work that this portfolio was

thought. Therefore, you will find the very best work produced by senior 5 students at Institute San

Cristobal this year in these pages. Throughout the year students worked in the production of

different pieces of writing. Here is a selection of the best pieces, which were not only selected but

also improved and edited ad hoc in order to be included in this collection.

Most of the students have presented their work under a pen name, so the challenge for you as a

reader is to recognize some writer by his or her style. In order to help you most of the students

have included a short biography, although you should be aware of the fact that many biographies

are not true to reality. As most of the work is fictional, any similarity with reality, we must say, is a

mere coincidence. Besides, we do apologize for any information that may not be accurate, and we

do hope you enjoy reading our work as much as we have enjoyed writing, editing and publishing it.

Any comment that will help us improve on our work will be most welcomed.

One Part of My Life Hi, my name is Paul. I’m 18 years old. I’m from Argentina and I live in Buenos Aires. My family is extremely big, I have two sisters, seven aunts and uncles, fourteen cousins, two grandmothers and grandfathers, my father and mother and a great-grandmother. It’s amazing, isn’t it? I study at Instituto San Cristobal, but this year is the last one. I’m delighted but at the same time I’m very sad. I don’t want to finish High School and start university. I’m really terrified. In the mornings, I go to school but in the afternoon I go to work in my father’s factory. It’s exhausting and boring, but with this I earn my money. When I am older, I would like to go around the world and visit a lot of places and eat different food. this is very difficult, but I want to do it. I’m planning to make a little but happy family. If I have two children, I want one boy and one girl. I wouldn’t like two boys or two girls.

My name is Paola Potato, I’m from Argentina. I live in Buenos Aires, Capital Federal. I live with my family and my dog. I study at Institute San Cristobal. Next year I’m going to study kindergarten in Normal nº8 called Julio Roca.

The Crazy Diary of Astromelia I am Astromelia, my surname is Lilium. I was born in San Cristobal, in Capital Federal. I live alone, in fact I live with my dog, who is called Rocco. He is beautiful and very intelligent but he has a problem. He barks all the time! 24 hours a day. It’s stressful. I don’t know why he barks. I have studied kindergarten’s teacher, I love children, they inspire me a lot and they make me feel good. I spend a lot of time looking for the shadows that are living in Anto’s house. The house was built by D’Angelo William in about 1960. The house was used as a place to kill bad people and donate organs. I like discovering truth and the mystery of the house. I caught two shadows, one was a girl and the other a boy who had been killed because they had broken the law. The shadow scared me and gave me adrenaline. My life is very busy and I think that I’ll probably go to the psychologist or hospitalize myself in a clinic. Sometimes I need my family or a boyfriend, to help me and teach me to say the saying “In life everything is possible…”

My name is Daniela Garcia. I‘m from Argentina. I live in capital, Buenos Aires. I’m eighteen years old. I studied at Institute San Cristobal.

The Diary of Me

My name is Daniela, my surname is Garcia. I was born in Avellaneda, but I moved to Capital Federal in 2003. Five years later I moved three block away from my house when my parents broke up. In these times, in my house four people lived: my mother, my sister, my grandmother and me. Four year ago we lived with my dad, but then my grandmother came to live with us. At the beginning of this year my dad gave me a dog, whose name is Cuky. She is very important to me. I always play with her when I come from school. Next year I’m going to study law, because I like to defend people. I’m very nervous because everything is new. But at this moment I’m finishing hight school and I’m working with my mother in a spa every day. In my free time I like dancing, sleeping, eating or staying with my boyfriend. I met him at secondary school in first year. His name is Pablo, he is twenty years old and lives in Buenos Aires. He is a good person, I have fun with him. Next summer, I will go to the beach with Pablo or my friends. This year I have a lot of aims and it is a good year. In the future I will miss school a lot. Always there will be funny memories. Life is beautiful. I would like to have children, marry and travel around the world. These are my dreams, this is my life…

Constitucion is THE PARK.

Constitucion’s park has children’s games for people to enjoy themselves. In the park there is a hammock and a big labyrinth. Next to the park is the terminal for Constitucion station. I recommend you visit it.

I was a little girl when I played there and it was incredible, not only the games but also the place in general. It is the park that I like in the neighborhood.

This year we paved and improved satisfaction for all travelers. It is well known, not only to have the train terminal, but by the great number of groups who come from elsewhere.

Charles Hammington, who was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, is a computer scientist, very well

known for his particular sense of criticism against the imposed order of society and the influence

of global media over society.

STEVE JOBS: HEAVEN OR HELL?

Uncountable articles, blog entries, even tweets and millons of posts on Facebook have been

written during the last two weeks about the magnificent, clever and unbreakable min of who is

now the newest 21st century’s hero: Steve Jobs.

As every celebrity who passes away, Steve Jobs is now being remembered for his

contribution to our technological world, adding indispensable devices to our lives, creating

(definitely) a before and after in our social relationships, making computer freaks regret buying

any kind of Microsoft software and spreading beautiful flowers at the same time he did these

things. But, unluckily, we are still human beings, and if we take into account theories as “Karma”,

or just watch a movie where big business is involved, we will definitely start doubting about this

pink-colored world where horses and unicorns share a green field on a sunny day. As a matter of

fact, I do doubt. And it doesn’t seem fair to me to remember such personality for only what global

media wants us to remember about him. But to add a little bit of criticism, we have to consider the

dark side of the story, and, in order to do that, I will focus on some specific threads.

Could you imagine a life when you go out of your house without putting on your

headphones? A life where music is only played in an old record player over a squeaky table in the

corner of your living room? Could you think about yourself coming to your house and not

immediately turning on your computer? Or worse, having nothing to turn on?

This may probably be a world where Steve Jobs wasn’t born, or maybe had got a degree in

literature in Oxford (would we then be talking about the new Shakespeare?). I’m sure our

grandparents did live in that world, and not only in their imagination, indeed. It IS possible to live

without computers and our loved I-phones, even if it sounds impossible, millons of hundreds of

years of human history had proved it. And whether we like it or not, they still discovered fire and

invented some kind of round stuff that helped them moving heavy weights. If we talk about things

occurred recently, they could discover electricity or post a relativity theory. So, the point is… Was

it really necessary? Was creating the habit (or should I say the dependency?) a real need in our

WRITING PORTFOLIO 5TH COM

5th COM Página 8

lives? Or was it just a growing market that went out of control? Or worse: Do they WANT to have it

under control?

A large quantity of people have experienced what I love to define as techno-illness. In it

head, dependency. And it may, in many cases, not be optional. For example, if we consider the

stressed mind of a chief executive of a multi-national company that has to deal with twice as many

issues his phone, localizer and multiple e-mail accounts could handle, this blessing Steve Jobs left

in our world could turn more into a curse. Do you happen to think what is the percentage of

stressed minds in the world caused by digital gadgets in this, or similar way? And if we separate it

into levels, from the highest to the lowest, how many people do you think will be totally affected?

Another techno-illness I would like to focus on is addiction. You probably already know

that Jobs was the key to implement the concept of Personal Computers (PC’s), and possessor of

the ability to create gadgets that “we didn’t know we needed, till he invented them”, newest CEO

of Apple would say.

So what immediately comes to my mind is the image of an 8-10 year old boy playing

“Grand Thief Auto” in his computer, without any kind of either parental or electronic control,

learning about every kind of drugs and multiple ways to kill people with just pressing a few

buttons on his keyboard. Is this technology controlled? Or, as I said before, claimed to be, but not

controlled at all?

Never should we forget, and this will be the last point I will take into account, but not at all

the least, when the digital slaves, shocked by the power of business, happen to be no more digital,

and start being physical. This can be considered as a “trend topic” in many social networks, but it

also has to be taken with the serious measures it come with. What I’m talking about is the current

situation in the less (or should I say “not at all”) developed countries where the most important

companies settle up their factories, abusing cheap handwork. This is, obviously, not only seen in

Africa and China, but most of it is, and when I refer to China as a “not developed at all” country,

I’m talking about factory ships kilomiters away from the coast, where independent companies pay

a quarter of a salary to their workers, achieving none of the legal requirements or even the human

rights they are supposed to provide them. Or maybe we should imagine African people working as

slaves, as if they were no more than cold robots assembling shinny patys of a toxic LCD for an I-

Pad. Oh, yes, they’re definitely not robots…

…Robots need maintenance.

All things considered, I would not at all define Steve Jobs as the visionary who once

thought that a computer can be something that fits in our everyday life. I’m sure it is totally more

complex than that, and I can grant you that he was not a hero at all. Supersticious people would

say, indeed, that he wouldn’t have died of cancer if he was.

Jobs had a clever mind, and he is one of the founders of what we call “common life”, but

we can’t, and will never be able to know if things would have been better without computers,

internet, I-pads, I-phones, Twitter or Facebook.

I personally believe that Steve Jobs was a great person, and his mind an personality are

something to imitate. But we can not keep “guzzling” everything that is shown on TV or written in

a top moment magazine or newspaper. We must still think about the side effects of what our 21st

WRITING PORTFOLIO 5TH COM

5th COM Página 9

century hero produced. If we keep avoiding criticism about what any businessman at the head of a

TV chain wants to “insert”, we will never get better as a society. We have to (and must) think

about the consequences of everything we hear, so that we can differ if they are or not what they

seem to be.

So, after considering everything written in this essay… Steve Jobs, does he deserve heaven

or hell? This will be your decision, I have just given you some tips to start thinking.

Is Your Body Real?

Nowadays, despite being fashionable or not, we are all under the pressure to modify our bodies.

Men are frequently submitted to use steroids and masculine diet products. Women are pushed to

increase their breast size. The obsession to have a perfect body concerns people during their

whole life. Frequently we see boys trying to be as muscular as their favorite sports man, and little

girls trying to be as beautiful as top models are.

Cheeks, Teeth, noses, lips, wrinkles, striations, breasts, legs, buttocks, feet, hair, ears, necks, skin

color, body hair, it all became clay in surgeons, dentists and dermatologists hands, that transform

their bodies in a pseudo beauty standard.

Do you want to look like your favorite pop star?, now you can do it. Is your skin too pale?, you can

get it darker with sunbeds and special chemical products. Too short? Do as Chinese people do,

insert a metal stick in your thigh to have the same height as the rest of the people, or if you are a

Scandinavin woman, you can break your legs to reduce your height. Are your bubs too big and

flaccid? Think about submitting it to a lifting, to reduce them. Too small? Think about silicone

implants, or a “natural” process to get “meat” from your back. If you are too fat, you can try a

liposuction.

Whether you are a man or a woman, fat has to be avoided because society considers it a repulsive

reality. Bulimia and anorexia affect most European countries, causing hundreds of diseases a year.

We live in a world where plastic surgeries, esthetics centers, spa and gyms are a very profitable

business that rises every day.

To have a perfect body has become the ambition of millions of people.

Rocio Incristi, born October 1993, in Buenos Aires Argentina. She is one of the most popular singers in the country, and now she is in a tour around the world. She sold more than 54565 millons of records. She started her race since she was a little child.

A Night in the Countryside

Alex and his friends got out of the submarine, and looked around them. It was beautiful. They were all happy and they were two friends.

They walked chattily through the beautiful countryside in search of a place to camp. After an hour or so they found it. Everyone smiled "Lets camp here !" they all said at once. "Wow its so nice!" said Paul. "Finished" said Alex as he sat down on the grass. Suddenly a chill wind blew through the trees. Everyone looked up to see dark clouds in the sky above. "Right" said Alex "We'd better make a fire".

"Go on to search wood" said Paul, then both of them were walking, slow and quietly. They found wood, and a bag with food. They want to know if someone else was in there. However the food emelled so bad and old.

As they gathered round the blazing fire everyone was relaxing, so Alex diceded to tell one of his stories "Hey dis you hear what happened to poor old Billy last summer?

" people said that he was camping in this place, because he was unemployed and he had to moved to the woods and sorvive to all the dangerous things. One day he was looking for some food to eat... but that day all the woods was strange. The animals shouthed and screamed like if they want help. The man that day disappeard, now in day nobody know what happened to Billy, it is a mistery!"

"You don't half talk rubbish" Said Paul getting nervously. Suddenly the wind started to blow strange, and Paul was getting more nervous until

Alex sail "Come on .. it is nothing, come with me and check it out"

The Building and the Tower

The most interesting building that I have visited is the Tomas Adolfo Duco stadium. There, there is

a tower. You can see allthe stadium from there. The tower is on Mirave street, but the most

representative streets are Amancio Alcorta Avenue and Luna street. It's interesting because it is

part of a soccer Stadium. The Tomas Adolfo Ducó is the Huracan stadium and it has a nickname.

It's called the "Palacio". This is because in the year it was built, it was one of the most beautiful

soccer stadium from America.

The Tomas Adolfo Duco stadium is like my second house, because I go there every match

to see Huracan. I leave the stadium happily if Huracan wins, because I want to see Huracan in the

first league again.

A Huracan fan is always prepared to suffer for the game, because we don´t have the best

team, and the latest coaches have been very bad. But the principal reason for the bad moment of

Huracan has a name, and it is Carlos Babington and all his partisans, because it is said they have

stolen all the money.

I was born on march 26th in 1994, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Luckily I was not born alone, I have a twin, with whom I share everything. Also I have another sister, but she is older. I am 17 years old now and I’m in fifth year of high school. I go to school San Cristobal. When I finish, I will study something referred to music, which is what I love.

Beginner’s Luck Cannot Fail. She is Gabriela and now she is a well-known musician in a band. She began studying music at the age of four, with a tutor. When she was older she studied in a music institute, and as a teenager she had his own band, which was not well-known. Then she began to study bass guitar with a famous musician. A friend informed her that a notorious music band had no bass player, so she could have an audition. The band called a more or less known group of musicians, leaving Gaby as last option. After six months the band called her. The music band liked her style and personality, and tested her for some time. Then they decided that she would be part of the band. And so the great adventure began and continues up to these days, playing their music to hundreds of fans all around the world.

The Buckingham palace, home of Queens and Kings One of the buildings I would like to visit before I die is the Buckingham Palace, in London. It was built hundreds of years ago, and since then it has been the home of England's Kings and Queens. It is located in the middle of London. Today is the home of Queen Isabel II.

It's a very luxurious and big building, with a big garden and a lake. The palace has 600 rooms, a throne room, a ball room, an art gallery, a pool and a big garden. 52 of the rooms are used by the Royal Family and their guests, 188 rooms are for the service staff. There are 78 bathrooms, and 92 offices. Some of these places can be visited during August and September, when de Royal family isn't in the palace.

It has guards on the front door all the time. The Buckingham palace's guards are famous not only because of their uniform (red, with long black hats) but also because of their total inmobility during their time on duty. At a specific time of the day, they change position with another guard, making a little spectacle which is seen by hundreds of tourists. It lasts 45 minutes, and is accompanied by music made by a soldiers' band.

I hope one day I have the possibility of going there; I find London one of the most interesting places in the world.

Disney, Best Experience of my Life.

Disney World is a magical place "where dreams come true". It's in U.S.A, Orlando, you can see

some parks called "Magic Kingdom", "Epcot", "Hollywood Studios" and "Animal Kingdom", apart

from two water parks called "Typhoon Lagoon" and "Blizzard Beach". In the different parks you can

find a lot of games, roller coasters and funny pools with piano and guitar shapes.

This empire was created by Walt Disney for his children in 1953. It can be interesting for all

the family because the games are classified according to ages.

I recommend Walt Disney World♥ in summer. This year (2011) I came back to Disney with

my family to live a different experience, a more relaxed one. This time I saw new games, new

settings, new hotels, new buildings as if I had never been here before. When I have my own

family, I would like to come back with my children.

Designed by the Italian architect Vittorio Meano and completed by Argentine architect Julio

Dormal, the building was under construction between 1898 and 1906. The Congress building is

located in Buenos Aires, at the western end of Avenida de Mayo. The “Zero Kilometre” for

all Argentine national highways is marked on a milestone at the Congressional Plaza, next to the

building.

This place has the most beautiful and oldest pieces of furniture, for example, lacquered writing

desks, lamps and polished marble floors.

The Library of the Congress was created in 1859, with the purpose of assisting legislators in both

chambers, researchers and the general public, with more than 3.000.000 bibliographic

pieces. Also, the newspaper library has over 7,000 titles of collections of newspapers, magazines,

newspapers in Argentina and abroad.

In my opinion the Congress is the greatest symbol of democracy we have, because it can keep and

defend our democracy and the rights of citizens.

The Darkness of the Soul

It was cold and raining, Marcus was at the police station with his friend Michael. They were

watching tv at about ten o´clock, when suddenly, the telephone rang. Marcus answered the call:

Marcus: Hello, police station ,what I can do for you?

Strange woman: Please, you must come here immediately!!!! It comes for me!!! Please!!!!

Marcus: Don´t worry, we are going there. What is your location?

Strange woman:230 Rosencrantz Av.… (noise)… (a person puffing)

Marcus:Hello? Hello?

At that moment Michael and Marcus ran for the car and went to Rosencrantz avenue. When they

arrived, Marcus rang the bell and called the owner, but nobody answered. Then they broke the

door and entered with their guns, but when they entered, a woman was in a pool of blood , her

face was very sad and white like the snow. The detectives looked around the room and saw

something horrible. A little text was written on the wall:

“we are the children of sorrow, the stalkers of the night, your blood is our drink and your soul is

our food, we can´t die because the agel of death is our father, the Salvador don´t exist”.

When Marcus and Michael saw this message, they couldn´t believe there were persons who killed

people for hunger or for satanic rituals. It should be a joke, but unfortunately a person had died

and somebody was the murderer. They had to stop that.

The next day Marcus was alone because his partner was really sick. The day was like a ordinary day

in the department, the prisoners were crying and the politicians were saying the same stupid

things about the economy. He was really afraid about the previous night, the young woman had

been very scary and he couldn’t do anything, the only clue was the message.

While Marcus was walking on the street, he saw an occultist magazine in a newsagent, he bought

it and began to read it. In that magazine Marcus read about rituals, or something similar. It said:

“for the ritual you need three persons: the first must kill himself, the second must jump from the

archangel Gabriel to his sword, and the third must say…”

he wanted the rest of the page but the magazine burnt in his hands. When Marcus arrived home,

He thought about which of these sacrifices was the girl’s but he didn´t find a relation.Marcus was

resting in his bed and the telephone rang, he answered:

Marcus:Hello, who is it?

Michael: Ma…mar..cus…you must run, they are coming for you, he comes for me …. Like the …like

the girl.

Marcus: Michael!!! Michael!!!

At that moment, he put his coat on and ran to Michael’s house. When he arrived, Michael was

dead and his mattress was stained with blood, behind him was a little note:

“Your stupid friend helped us finish ,now our bloody god will be between us, now ,only you,

Marcus, only you can call our master, come with us in the minefield graveyard and finish the

prophecy”

Marcus was really afraid, his friend had died in a ritual and now he was the key for a ritual, it was

great, really great.

Next day he was furious, sad and a little worried, but when Marcus went home, the sky was red

and the wind was toxic. He took his car and he drove to the graveyard, nobody was on the streets.

He walked to the cemetery and he thought about the sacrifices. Marcus was arriving, his destiny

hitting him in the face. He opened the gate and walked till the cult:

The black priest: The key is here, we must offer his blood to god

Marcus:Oh men you are really sick, take this (He took his gun and shot the priest on the head)

Then a circle opened on the floor and a demon came out. All the cult was crying and prying to the

dark demon. But the demon didn’t feel the same, he took them and ate them with his enormous

gangs.

On his feet was the dark book of the ritual, while he didn´t watch him, Marcus ran to the book, but

a girl was on his way. Finally he grabbed the book and uttered the spell..A awful roar came out of

the mouth of the beast, who shrank to the form of a human body, that was his partner, Michael.

However, the little girl suddenly turned into a beast and Marcus fell on the floor, his nose bleeding

and his eyes turned white. The demon's body dismembered and devoured the detective. Then the

devil said "this is the thirteenth time I have incarnated in this world, I just need one more ritual to

devour the souls of all living beings "

Hello, my name is Flor San. I am 18 years old and live with my parents and my younger sister Belen. I go to San Cristobal Institute and I’m at the point of finishing my secondary school. It was difficult for me to make a decision, but finally I could do it: Next year, I’m going to begin a university course of studies. I'm going to study Graphic Design.

Parque Patricios

I live in Parque Patricios. From my point of view, this neighbourhood is the most

beautiful in Buenos Aires. In 1850, it used to be a slaughterhouse where many

activities concerning meat took place. It is said that sometimes during the night, you

can hear a dead man yelling. The legend says that he died because of a fire in his

house, caused in the stalls.

The soccer club of this neighbourhood is Club Atlético Huracán, the sixth

biggest, whose classic rival is Club Atlético San Lorenzo de Almagro.

In Parque Patricios you can find the Tomás A Duco Stadium as well as the social

host of Huracán. The sports field is in the Bajo Flores neighbourhood.

The squares in this beautiful place are very big and many families go there to

get together during weekends. The most famous schools are Bernasconi, Nuestra

Señora de Luján and La inmaculada. The last one belongs to the San Antonio de

Padua’s church.

I really love Parque Patricios. I think it is my place in the world. It’s the place

where I was born, where I’ve made lots of friends, and where I’d like to live my whole

life. I also love Huracán. I follow it wherever they go, even in the B league.

When I grow up, I will do my best to help my neighbourhood progress.

Julia Williams, who was born in New York, has lived in Chicago for many years and previously lived

in Buenos Aires where she worked as a gear master to marketing in Coca-Cola company.

The Bolson:

The Bolson is a wonderful and very quiet place, located in the province of "Rio Negro", Parallel 42.

Its main touristic attractions are the craft fair, which features over 50 artisans, carved wood, the

"Cajon del Azul" and its Stories about magical elves, fairies, trolls and other fantastic creatures. The

typical food of the area are the Patagonian lamb, smoked trout, homemade sweets and fruit

liqueurs, such as raspberry, blackberry and others.

My favorite activity when I go on vacation there is getting into the lake and swimming and

also walking around the fair and eating raspberry tarts, but I spend most of my money on the

handmade elves and fairies.

Other vices are books, Celtic stories, stories of the area, magic, all the fantasy becomes a

reality there. Having spent my last summer there was the best idea I had with my parents in years.

I recommend people who need a break to go and visit parallel 42 for a few days.

I was born in Uruguay on 25/12/93, I moved to Argentina when I was 6 years old. I have written

several children's stories and some mystery stories.

Deadly melody

In this story our beloved detective Sherlock will meet with one of the most valuable musical

instruments, which is a kind of violin of which there are only 9 around the world.

He was hired by the creator of these violins, whose name is Mark Kuznets and he called

him because he needed his services for the ceremony to give his own violin.

The problem occured when Mark received a letter from his best student named Tamara

Hershey, who had been dead for more than six months, by suicide. The letter said “the violin

teacher is mine, I will never surrender”. In this ceremony, all students will be gathered. And

Holmes takes the case.

After a concert conducted by Mark, in which a student withdraws from an unknown cause,

everybody go to their rooms and suddenly they heard a noise similar to that of breaking glass; All

ran to the room where the noise came from, found the dead body of one of the students, followed

Tamara Hershey’s favorite song, the glass of the vase were stained with blood and scattered

around the room, windows were closed and no trace of anyone having entered the room or having

left it was found.

Holmes deduced: none had time to prepare this because it was immediately after the

concert and the murderer was not in the room at the time of the crime, the victim was

anesthetized and the music was to cause the fall of the vase; so the criminal is Erik Smirnov who

had retired in the middle of the concert.

Charleen Jones, known professionally as “Charlin” is a Mexican singer who emerged in the music scene of Mexico and Latin America in the early 1995. Born and raised in Ciudad de Mexico, Mexico, Charlin began performing in school, demonstrating her vocal ability with Tango Lating.

My second house The most interesting building that I’ve visited is the San Lorenzo’s Stadium. This building is in Avenida Cruz 2572, and was built in 1994. Is very interesting because i go there for support to San Lorenzo.

There you can see some steps, and the field where the players play to the football. The team is not passing a very well moment, because the players don’t play good and the

have problems with the violent fans. The last match San Lorenzo lost 0-2 against Godoy Cruz. It was a very importan match

because the team playing for keep the category because the last campagin was very bad. I hope that San Lorenzo could play better so I coud leave the stadium happy. I would give

my life for see to San Lorenzo win an International Tournament.

My name is David Vilas, I live in Parque Patricios and I “study” at San Cristobal Institute, I am not inspired by stories, I am inspired by some movies, for that reason I wrote this story

The Dog’s Shade

It was practically midnight when I was sleeping, and I wanted to wake up, but could not.

Something hauled at me towards the bed and little by little it felt that I was sinking. The more I

tried to raise the more I sank. Suddenly I felt hands that took me from my shoulders. But this

happened most of the night.

Thus without being able to move I could turn around and I saw a shade moving quickly

through the window. Suddenly I felt cold and a gust of air entered. That was impossible because I

did not have the window open.

I was desperate. I felt those horrible claws holding me towards the bed, I could not speak

nor move. The shade was projected by the ceiling and I began to say, felt that something was not

well. The bed began to shake itself as if somebody was pushing it.

They moved away and finally I could move, my body hurt me and was soaked in sweat and

soon I discovered that I had dreamed it all. I rose and I went to the kitchen to take a glass from hot

milk, trying to clear my head off the terrible sensation and the bitter experience that I had lived.

Later I returned to my bed, to only listen to a horrible voice that said my name, I rose quickly and

then I discovered something that terrified me. Around my bed there was earth or ashes. I slept

again very afraid and the next day was a normal day. All the things that had happened never

repeated again.

All that happened was a mystery for me.

My name is JoVir. I am seventeen years old. I am from Brazil, but I live in Argentina. I was born on May 16, 1994. I live with my mom and my sister in the neighborhood of Parque Patricios.

Life is a Trip My name is Kevin. I am 16 years old. I was born on May 17, 1995. I'm Taurus which I like very much. I live with my mom and my brother; I like being with them and spending time together. I am a perfectionist and a quiet person.

When I finish school, I want to be a doctor! It is a long course of studies but I love to save lives. I will go to the UBA. I think it is the best university for this course. In my spare time I enjoy being with my friends and playing with the computer. My hobby is riding a bmx. this is what I like. A year ago I practised this sport and I think I'm pretty good at this. I would like to be a professional. Another of my hobbies is to take photographs, more than anything of landscapes or bikers. I try to be as professional as possible. I'm saving to buy a better camera and take better pictures. At school I'm not very studious, it is very hard for me but I try to pay attention, which is not that difficult.

One of my dreams is to travel around the world and experience different places, different cultures, different people.

This was a summary of my life and I hope you read it and you like it!

A History of Me and My Favorite Trip My name is Kendall Schmidt, I was born in Kingston, Jamaica in February of 1975. In 1980 I had to go to another country. My father had a friend in Adrogué, Argentina, he got a job in a candy shop. I could make a lot of friends at school. When I turned 18, my mother gave me money to travel around the country. In 1988 I traveled to the northwest of Argentina. I saw the Quebrada de Humahuaca, the Pukara of Tilcara, and other beautiful landscapes. But I went to San Miguel of Tucumán where I saw the best building I had seen in my life.

The House of Independence of Argentina is not such a big house, but I was surprised by the importance of this house. In the patio all you can see is a beautiful garden, and inside there is a museum. The bad part is that you are not allowed to enter the most important room.

San Miguel de Tucumán is a big city and it is in the province of Tucumán. There you have beautiful places like Tafí del Valle, and you can see the Calchaquies valleys.

I came back to Buenos Aires, and I searched for work because I had no more money to continue traveling. Then, I continued to travel around the world and I went to Italy, Spain, France, England, Russia and another countries.

If you can travel, you must go to Tucumán, it is the best place.
