WRITING COMPETITION ENTER BY 30 APRIL To mark our centenary, we’re keen to publish a collection of short stories written by residents. To get involved and have a chance to see yourself in print, write a story that’s set in the Village. Maximum 500 words, open to all ages. Let your imagination fly! Enter by 30 April. Details to follow. FUN WALK AROUND THE VILLAGE – SATURDAY 2 JUNE Join us for this relaxed event open to residents of all ages and ability, family and friends. For a small entry fee you’ll receive a limited edition commemorative RGV centenary t-shirt. Look out for details of training walks from March onwards – a great opportunity to walk and talk with fellow neighbours as you limber up for the big day. “Charlie the Clown” will be leading the walk; he will entertain everyone on the Green with juggling, balloon modelling, bubbles and close up magic, plus singing, dancing and plate spinning. Finish with a picnic on the Green where Il Peperone Piccante fresh pizza can be purchased. VILLAGE DOG SHOW – SATURDAY 9 JUNE Dedicated to Rudy, the Golden Retriever. Come and show off your prize pooch at our dog show on the green. Prizes available in several categories. It promises to be a fun afternoon for owners and non-dog owners alike. CENTENARY QUIZ & CHIPS EVENING – SATURDAY 16 JUNE To be held at Kingsbury Services Club. More details to come CENTENARY VILLAGE DAY – SATURDAY 30 JUNE Join us for what promises to be our biggest and best Village Day yet! Brent Youth Orchestra – 40 musicians Enter our Great Village Bake Off competition Punch & Judy and games for the children Experience village nature in Wildlife Corner Stalls include head massage, bric-a-brac, books, cakes, unique arts & crafts Results of the Writing Competition and visiting authors Evening of Kix 16-piece Band with songs from 40s & 50s followed by DJ DanD playing current music. Hazel’s Kitchen, Caribbean food, Nayab & Tabz Indian vegetarian and Il Peperone Piccante pizza. With thanks to Brent for part-funding this event
