    1. INT. STUDY - DAY

    Close up of a blank word document page. TYPING STARTS.

    KEYBOARDWriters block. Writers block.

    Writers block. Writers baock.Wiriters Blocs. writifng bllllll

    ALAN is in his mid 60s, he is sat at his desk, hands on thekeyboard, dressed casually. He is leant back in his chairand rubbing his face, frustrated.

    Montage:

    - Alan has his glasses on, he skims through a fictional book

    - Leaning back in his chair, he listens to music

    - With a pen and paper he starts a mind map with New Novelin the middle of the page

    - Balls of paper land on the floor, a pile starts to form

    END MONTAGE

    Alan glances to a desk calendar- a date circuled sayingBOOK DUE. He sits over his desk with his head in hishands. His WIFE KNOCKS ON THE DOOR and Alan sits up.

    His wife enters and places a sandwich on the desk, she looksat the blank screen before kissing him on the forehead.

    Alans wife turns to leave, she SHUTS THE DOOR.

    Alan turns to call her back, but quickly decides not to. HeSIGHS.

    Alan picks up his coat before turning to a mirror, he looksat the reflection sadly before leaving the room.

    2. EXT. OUTSIDE HOUSE - DAY

    After SHUTS THE FRONT DOOR and takes a deep breath andstarts walking.

    His wife looks out the living room window, worried.

    Alan walks away from his house.

    3. EXT. PARK - DAY

    Walking through the park he observes the surroundings,people chatting, BIKES whizzing past and the trees BLOWINGIN THE WIND.

    He sits on a bench.

    A BIKE RIDES PAST AND THE CAMERA CUTS TO A MID SHOT.

    Alan gets out a small note book and pen from his pocket. Hetries to put pen to paper but writes nothing.

    Disheartened, Alan stares at the black paper before puttingit back in his pocket.

    He stands up and exits the shot.

    4. EXT. STREETS - DAY

    Alan walks through the busy streets, trapped in his ownworld.

    People brush past him but he keeps his head down, unable tothink freely.

    Alan notices a sign which reads ART SHOW". He stops andreads it curiously.

    Alan glances round the street before deciding to go insidethe building.

    5. INT. BUILDING - DAY

    Alan casually paces the corridor, taking time to look ateach piece of art.

    Alans eyes light up, curious, his mind taken away fromwriting.

    As he stares at a drawing, a young, tall and eccentricallydressed man named JACQUES quickly appears from a roomleading off from the corridor. He looks frantic andpanicked.

    Jacques notices Alan and with quick relief goes up to him.Alan, still looking at the painting is startled when Jacquesputs his hand on his arm.

    CONTINUED: 3.

    JACQUES(Very camp and frantic)

    You were close to giving me a heartattack! Youre late, but youre newso Ill forgive you this time. Youcan change in here.

    Jacques tries to usher Alan towards a room.

    ALANUmm, I...

    JACQUES(Frustrated)

    There is no need to be nervous.Come this way.

    Jacques practically drags a confused Alan to a disabledtoilet, Alan reluctantly enters.

    Jacques hands him a robe.

    JACQUESEverything off, this on. OK? Wellbe waiting in the studio.

    Jacques quickly SHUTS THE DOOR.

    Alan, holding the robe, is completely baffled.

    He looks at the robe for a moment, shrugs and starts toundress himself.

    6. INT. STUDIO - DAY

    Alan slowly enters the studio, he looks nervous and stillquite confused.

    Jacques walks over to Alan and introduces him to a class ofabout 6 people.

    JACQUESClass, this is...

    Jacques turns to Alan.

    JACQUE(Under his breath)

    Whats your name sorry?

    CONTINUED: 4.

    ALAN(Quiet)

    Alan.

    JACQUE(To the class)

    Alan. He is our model today. Now,we have to be out of here by 4 solets get started.

    Jacques CLAPS TWICE and directs Alan to a podium.

    Alan hesitantly steps up onto it and stands before theclass, all of which are staring at him.

    Alan looks scared and out of his depth, but starts to undohis robe anyway.

    The robe DROPS TO THE FLOOR and the class are taken aback.

    One student looks speechless.

    Alan, not knowing what to do stands naked and embarrassedbefore looking to Jacques, who looks speechless.

    JACQUES(Overwhelmed)

    Oh mon dieu! Class! Wont you lookat this magnificent specimen! Suchan established body, soknowledgeable. Such a powerfulemphasis of the maturity andenduring nature of man!

    The class start to paint.

    Alan, relaxing slightly, looks around the class, flattered.He is overcome with youthfulness.

    BEGIN "THE RESPONSIBLE" BY MILES KANE

    He raises his hand to his chin to create a thoughtful pose.

    MONTAGE

    - Alan walks home with a huge grin on his face

    -He walks to the mirror, confidently

    - Alan practices poses in the mirror in his underwear

    - Several cuts of the robe dropping to the floor overseveral weeks

    - Several cuts of different poses from the perspective of adifferent student each time

    - Several cuts show the class size growing and growing

    - Alan kisses his wife goodbye as she draws in front of the

    TV

    - Alans wife watches him leave, suspicious

    - Alan struts down the hall of the building in his robe

    - Alan crossing off days on the calendar

    - Several cuts of him making a confident appearance throughthe door

    - Jacques excitedly prancing round the class

    - Several cuts of Alan posing with various props

    END MONTAGE

    END "THE RESPONSIBLE" BY MILES KANE

    FADE OUT

    7. INT. BUILDING - EVENING

    FADE IN

    Alan walks into the building from the cold, wearing a coat,hat and scarf. He removes his hat and scarf and goes to getchanged.

    8. INT. STUDIO - EVENING

    The class is now full. About 15-20 people are sat behindeasels CHATTING.

    Alan walks in and the class SHUFFLES around and adjustthemselves.

    Jacques walks to the front of the class as Alan confidentlymakes his way to the podium.

    JACQUESOK everyone settle down. We havesome new faces here tonight. So itis my pleasure to introduce ourmodel, Alan.

    CONTINUED: 6.

    The class applauds and Alan drops his robe and goes to pose.Suddenly from the corner of his eye he sees his wife slowlyappear from behind an easel on the front row, she looks himup and down with her hand over her mouth.

    Alan, suddenly frozen with embarrassment, turns bright red

    before slowly lowering his hands in an effort to coverhimself.

    Jacques pulls a strange and disapproving face beforeaddressing the class.

    JACQUESJust go with it everyone!

    Alan remains stood on the podium, too embarrassed to move asthe class start painting.

    9. INT. STUDY - EVENING

    Alan, now fully clothed, sits back down at his desk.

    He seems relaxed and happy. He takes a deep breath andSTARTS TYPING.

    BEGIN "COMEBACK STORY" BY KINGS OF LEON

    Alans wife walks into the room and brings him a cup of tea.Alan stops writing and gives her a kiss on the cheek, shepats him on the back and smiles at him before leaving theroom.

    The End is typed on the computer screen.

    FADE OUT
