WPS Flexible Learning Grid – Year 1 Term 4, Week 2 At Werribee Primary School we understand that every family is different and every family has their own routines, so our home learning planning is structured in such a way that parents/carers/families have flexibility to adjust their child/children’s learning from day to day. Monday: READINGLearning Focus: We are learning to respond toquestions related to a text we have read.

Task: Read for 10 to 20 minutes using your Take HomeLevelled Text on Sunshine Online.Please ensure you are selecting a Take Home text thatis at your level so that you can improve your fluency,expression, confidence and understanding. The bookthat you read today will be used tomorrow when yourecord yourself reading aloud, so it’s important that it isnot a challenging book.

If you are unsure of your level, message your teacher.

Once you have finished reading your book, completethe Thinking (levels 1 -12 or A-G) or Quiz (13-30 or H+)task that is assigned to the book (this can be located atthe end of the book).

This week you’ll be developing 2 characters and a settingthat you will use next week to help create your ownrealistic story (realistic fiction). Make sure you choosecharacters and settings that will match one of yourproblems and solutions you listed last week.

Task: Choose a character from the list you created lastweek.● Draw a diagram of your character and label some

of their physical features (what they look like). Usedescriptive words to make your writing match thepicture. e.g long, wavy hair.
