The Conference brings an opportunity to share research experience and integrate the student community in the area of science. All members of Students Science Clubs, bachelor's / master's students as well as those enrolled in doctoral programmes are all welcome to attend.
Works will be eligible in in the following fields:Section 1:
- humanities,
- social science,
- theological science,
- arts.
Section 2:
- science and environment,- medical and health science,- agricultural science,- engineering and technical science.

a printed version format and editorial rules in Attachment 4), or a poster in PDF (one page – A1 or A0) reviewed by the project mentor;

The Conference is hosted in Polish and English.
Any projects inconsistent with the requirements described in the attachments will not be admitted for presentation at the Conference.
There is a limit of 5 lectures and 2 posters per one Students Science Club. Also, one student can be an author or a co-author in one project only. One Club can be represented by 8 students maximum (plus the project mentor). Every project can have up to 2 authors.
The table below specifies participation fees:If a participant fails to appear at the Conference, the fee will not be refunded.

1. In the case of first-time authors, they need to open an account by 15 March 2021 on a student publication platform which is hosted by UJK at https://www.ujk.edu.pl/wydawnictwo/, and then upload their work file as described in the publishing manual. 2. All comments and changes returned by the reviewer need to be incorporated in the work. The decision whether to publish a given work will be made at the discretion of the reviewer and the Scientific Council of the journal.

Editorial requirements
Volume: maximum 12 pages, A4, 2.5 cm margins, justified text, saved to .doc or .docx.
Font: Times New Roman, size 12, line spacing 1.5.
Title: centred, small caps. Headings aligned to the left margin, no numbers, bold font.
Abstract: up to 10 rows in Polish, describes key assumptions, the objective, research methods and
conclusions.
Keywords: underneath the abstract, up to 5 expressions other than the ones found in the body.
If the text contains titles of magazines, they are cited in inverted commas.
Use italics to distinguish all mentioned words, expressions and sentences as well as titles of articles,
books and their parts (chapters), not to mention any words in a foreign language.
Citations are in inverted commas (no bold font) and their sources are in corresponding footnotes.
Paragraphs are marked by reasonable indents (tabs).
Any digits found at the beginning of a sentence should be spelled out.
Foreign language citations found in Polish works need to be translated into Polish.
Meanings of defined words are given in definition commas ( ‘ ’).
Drawings and tables: maximum width not greater than the print format, font size at least 8,
photographs saved to JPG in greyscale. Recommended resolution 300 dpi for grey,
and 600 dpi for black-and-white movies and other cartoons.
Lists starting with a dash: non-capital letter starts a row, which then ends with a comma and the last
one ending with a full stop.
Numbered lists (1., 2., 3., ...) start with a capital letter and end with a full stop.
Contents of posters submitted for the poster section:title;full name(s) of author(s) and their affiliation;introduction;objective;materials and methods;results;requests;literature.
REFERENCES AND CITATIONS
For Sections 1 and 2 (except for the medical and health science)
use the Harvard system.
For Sections 2 in the area of the medical and health science use the Vancouver system.
Harvard system
Two types of references:
1. literature – in the body, round brackets, using the following order: last name of author, year of
publication, page number, for example (Stachowicz 2012: 37);
2. polemic or explanation – in the footnote, for example (see Stachowicz 2012 or compare
Stachowicz 2012 or Stachowicz 2012: 17-25).
LITERATURE – at the end include only those items that have been cited in the body, in the alphabetic
order of last names, as follows: last name(s) of author(s), first letter of first name, title, publication place and
year, in the case of a multi-author monograph include page ranges. Use full stop after every item.

Vancouver system
Literature – a list of literature is included at the end of a paper, in the order of appearance in the body, and
numbered. In the body, the respective literature items use subsequent numbers in square brackets [xx]. When
referring to authors of a paper, the cited text is placed directly after the last name of a paper's author (for
example, "according to Aronson et al. [23] the research is...").

TERMS OF CONTEST
Human and Environment
30th Conference of Students Science Clubs
The contest organised during the Human & Environment Conference of Students Science Clubs,
which is hosted by Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce (UJK), hereinafter "Contest", is intended for
students who take active part in that conference.
I. Host: Jan Kochanowski University (UJK) in Kielce – Centre for Science and Culture (Centrum Nauki i Kultury).
II. Objectives:1. To distinguish the best projects among those presented during the Human & Environment Conference
of Students Science Clubs.
2. To spread the idea of scientific research in the student community and to develop fields of interest and
support scientific activity of students.
3. To shape a positive image of a student in the student community, who is an active participant o scientific
projects (science conferences).
4. To incorporate the university values while showing respect to one another.
III. Assumptions:1. The Contest is unrestricted and generally addressed to students who take active part (through own lectures
and other presentations) in the Human and Environment Conference organised by UJK.
2. There are two categories of projects in the Contest:
2-1. Scientific lectures – never published before as a whole or in part. A lecture must be an original work of
a Contest participant, free of any third-party rights, plagiarism, parts of any other works or their copies.
2-2. Posters, artworks and multimedia – works developed based on scientific research, made using any
workshop or computer technique, which are original solutions that do not violate any third party rights;
artworks should be at least A2; multimedia can be paintings, films, installations in which digital media plays
major role; graphical works done using editing software should be delivered on digital or analogue carriers
and be original solutions that do not violate any third party rights.
3. Eligible work must be prepared by one or two persons.
IV. Rules:
1. To participate in the Contest the applicant submits contents of the scientific work
in paper and an electronic version to: UJK Centre for Science and Culture: Centrum Nauki i Kultury UJK w
Kielcach, ul. Śląska 15A, room 08, 25-328 Kielce, Poland – by a deadline set by the organiser and according
to the rules published at the site of the Conference and UJK Centre for Science and Culture.
2. The participant will then present the submitted scientific work during Human & Environment Students
Scientific Clubs Conference.
V. Category 1 evaluation criteria:
1. Merits of the work (scientific value, originality, adequacy between the title and contents, appropriate
interpretation of results and drawn conclusions): 0-5 points.
2. Format of the work (appropriate and comprehensible layout of the body, clear and justified distribution of
tables, drawings and images): 0-5 points.
3. Presentation of the work at the conferences: 0-5 points.
4. Language, style and specialist literature (appropriate language/style of the text, appropriate citations of
specialist literature): 0-5 points.
Category 2 evaluation criteria:
1. Presentation: 0-5 points.
2. Original idea (own research and materials used): 0-5 points.
3. Popularisation of science: 0-5 points.
VI. Conclusion and awards:
1. The Contest rewards:
– Top 1-3 places in Category 1 – scientific lectures in all sections;
– Top 1-3 places in Category 2.
If less than 15 works are submitted, then only the first place will be rewarded.
The Contest Committee may change the number of awards or give a honourable mention.
2. The Contest organiser reserves a right to request an applicant to submit necessary statements and
declarations, if missing.
3. The Contest Committee selects the winning works at its own discretion.
The Contest Committee consists of members of the Scientific Council of the Conference.
4. The project mentor does not participate in the evaluation of a work which the mentor supports.
5. When evaluating works the Contest Committee awards points based on the evaluation criteria
described in Chapter V of the Contest Terms.
6. Only one prize per winning place is given regardless of the number of actual authors of the winning work.
7. The Contest prizes are non-cash.
8. Contest winners will acknowledge sign off receipt of a prize.
9. Contest results and the award ceremony take places on the last day of the Conference.
10. If a prize is not collected within 30 days of Contest results announcement, the prize will be deemed
waived at the discretion of its winner.
VII. Miscellaneous:
1. The Contest organiser reserves a right to change contents of these Terms.
2. Any costs as may be related to preparation of a work for the Contest are covered by its participant.
