“Gentle Shepherd”
Gentle Shepherd, come and lead us,
for we need You to help us find our way.
Gentle Shepherd, come and feed us,
for we need Your strength from day to day.
There’s no other we can turn to
who can help us face another day.
Gentle Shepherd, come and lead us,
for we need You to help us find our way.
(Psalm 23 ESV)
Leader: The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
All: He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me
beside still waters.
Leader: He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of
righteousness for His name’s sake.
All: Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow
of death, I will fear no evil,
Leader: …for You are with me: Your rod and Your staff, they
comfort me.
All: You prepare a table before me in the presence of my
enemies;
Leader: You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
All: Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days
of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of
the Lord forever.
“Showers of Blessing”
There shall be showers of blessing,
this is the promise of love.
There shall be seasons refreshing,
sent from the Savior above.
Showers of blessing, showers of blessing we need.
Mercy drops round us are falling,
but for the showers we plead.
There shall be showers of blessing,
send them upon us, O Lord..
Grant to us now a refreshing,
come now and honor Thy Word.
Showers of blessing …
There shall be showers of blessing,
oh, that today they might fall.
Now as to God we’re confessing,
now as on Jesus we call!
Showers of blessing …

Life Application Questions
“The Shepherd of God”
Isaiah 40, Ezekiel 34, John 10, Psalm 23
1. How does Isaiah 40:9-11 describe the shepherd-like care God
promised to provide to His people?
2. Why does God appoint human shepherds for His people? How
had the Israelite leaders failed to fulfill this purpose?
3. How does God respond to the failure of the Israelite leaders in
Ezekiel 34?
4. Who is Jesus revealing Himself to be in John 10?
5. As we reflect upon what Jesus did for the formerly blind man,
consider the words of Psalm 23. In what ways does Jesus care
for His sheep, and how does that care stir your emotions?
