About the course
1
This is the sophomore level ELA course
for the high school. That means that
there will be a higher level of work
expected and more homework will be
given than in your previous studies.
The year will be broken into four units
covering different parts of the world.
Grading will be broken down
into the following percentages:
50% Quizzes & Classwork
25% Tests
25% Papers

Class Policies
1. Late Work
Late work will be penalized with reduction of points. After a week, the late work may not be made up without using a retake.
2. Plagiarism
Plagiarism will result in an automatic zero for the assignment.
3. Absent Work
Students are responsible for their late work and have one week to make it up. After such time, it becomes a zero. Student will have to use a retake in

order to make it up.
4. Technology
Technology is to be used only for school purposes. If student is using it for any other reasons, it will be taken and given to the principals. Also, computer may not be charged during class.

2. Respect others.
3. Be on time.
4. Be productive.
Consequences 1st Offense- Verbal Warning
2nd Offense- Parent Contact
3rd Offense- Meeting with Parents
4th Offense- Office Referral

About Me
This is my third year at WCH. I taught
previously in my hometown of Point
Pleasant, West Virginia. I attended
Marshall University earning a degree in
Education and Literature and am currently
attending Xavier University pursuing a
Masters in gifted education. I have a
wonderful husband, son (6), and a
newborn daughter. Together, we enjoy
museums, concerts, and nature.
