Plans for Christmas With everything that’s going on at the moment, unfortunately our plans and celebrations for Christmas are going to have to be a little bit different than usual. That said, you’ll be pleased to know that we fully intend to do our best to make sure that everyone has a great Christmas at Perranporth School! Here are the dates for our Christmas events: 4th Dec - Decorations Afternoon. Children will make a Christmas tree decoration which parents can purchase for FOPS funds. Unfortunately parents won’t be able to come into school to help this year - sorry. 9th Dec - Christmas Lunch and Christmas Jumper Day. Children will be able to order their Christmas lunch and we’ll also be wearing Christmas jumpers too! 9th Dec - Christmas Pantomime. FOPS have organised for children to be able to watch a streamed pantomime in their classrooms for a small donation. 11th Dec - Rec, Y1, Y2, Y3 FOPS Christmas Surprise!!! More details will follow soon. 16th Dec - Christmas Productions Shared Teachers will share their class Christmas production. These will be videoed and shared online so that families can still enjoy the Christmas celebrations despite not being able to see it in person. 18th Dec - INSET Day - School will be closed to pupils. World Kindness Day The school was an extra specially kind and happy place last Friday thanks to Erin’s lovely idea of recognising World Kindness Day. Every class spent some time thinking about what kindness is and how important it is to both be kind to others and feel kindness from others too. Then children wrote a kind message to another child and received one in return - simple, but very powerful! It really was a lovely afternoon. Thank you Erin for such a kind and thoughtful idea.

Dogs Outside School

Please can we ask, that if parents need to

leave their dog unattended whilst dropping

children into school; that unattended dogs be

left on the grassed area by the school signs.

Dogs should not be left unattended under the

trees where people are now waiting for chil-

dren to come out of school. Additionally, can

we request that dog owners are particularly

mindful of young children, and keep their

dogs under full control at all times.

We must also advise that the school accepts

no responsibility for dogs whilst they are on the

school site. Thank you.

Virtual After School Clubs

The Youth Sport Trust have taken the step to deliver a free virtual after school club as part of

a national response to the second lockdown. The 30-minute club will take place at 5pm

each weekday and be led by a different member of the YST’s athlete mentor network, start-

ing on Thursday 12 November with world no.1 female inline skater and 10-time British Cham-

pion Jenna Downing. The After School Sport Club will then run for five weeks until December 18 and children and

young people can take part live by visiting our YouTube channel - http://www.youtube.com/user/YouthSportTrust

Aimed mainly at primary-aged children, a different theme has been assigned for each day of the club - Adventure

Monday, Tuesday Play, Wild Wednesday, Thinking Thursday and Fun Friday. The YST hope that this will provide sup-

port, capacity and inspiration to sit alongside the other great work and offers that are available for schools and chil-

dren and young people to engage in.
