2. What is World Heritage? World Heritage of mankind is a title that UNESCO gives to some specific beautiful places on the planet. They are nominated to be on the list made by the World Heritage program. The objective of that is catalog, preserve and make known places of cultural or natural importance in the world 3. What's the origin? It was made by the convention for international cooperation in the protection of cultural and natural heritage. It was adopted by the UNESCO General Conference in November 16th, 1972. 4. What are the Comittee functions? The Committee is responsible for the implementation of the World Heritage Convention. It gives financial help to States Parties. It decides if a place is inscribed on the World Heritage List. 5. What does the emblem represent?The emblem represents the interdependence of the worlds natural and cultural diversity. It is used to identify places protected and inscribed in the World Heritage List. It represents the universal values of the World Heritage. The central square means the results of human skills and inspiration and the circle represents nature. 6. What's the centre? The Centre organizes the annual meetings of the . World Heritage Committee and Bureau. It gives advice to States Parties in the preparation of nominated places. It gives international help if some countries ask. It coordinates both the information about the conditions of places and the emergency actions in case of danger for some places. 7. The World Heritage List The World Heritage List includes 981 places forming part of the cultural and natural heritage which the World Heritage Committee . Those places have got an universal value.
