Why a Corporate Account?• Can bring longterm stability to your gym -

the ultimate goal is a 3-5 year contract

• Basically your only overhead is the cost of your coaches

• It can bring your gym solid income

Page 7: Working with Corporate Accounts as a CrossFit Gym | 321GoProject

Why Not?• It takes your coaches away from your

current gym and classes

• It takes your attention away from your current gym and members

• It can be a very long process to secure a contract - Patience and persistence and crucial

• Working with bureaucracy requires a different approach

Why CrossFit Within a Large Company?• Face value is the health and fitness benefits - we know

CrossFit is the most effective training program available

• It's a great employee retention tool

• It's great for recruitment

• The strong community it develops - this can be a huge catalyst for cultural transformation within a company - employees identify more closely with each other and the company

• It develops mental strength, determination, and tenacity within individuals and groups

• Improves department-to-department and employee-to-employee cooperation

Getting a Corporate Account• Leverage your members to make a connection - Does

one of your members work at your target company or know someone who does?

• You want “decision makers” within the company on your side. Give them free 1-on-1 sessions, so they understand CrossFit and its benefits

• Be patient, persistent, and creative

• Make sure you know and understand all of your potential expenses associated with running a corporate account - the company will want to know and see all of your expenses and you'll need to protect yourself from losing on the account

• You can't charge more to a company than what the cost would be to a regular member

Operating a Corporate Account• Create a strategic manner in which to

incorporate/onramp all employees into a CrossFit program. How are you going to get 300 people who've never done CrossFit up to speed while ensuring they have a good experience and don't get scared away?

• Have an efficient and effective participation tracking system

• Know the company’s rules with regards to music you can play, language you can use, etc.

• You and your coaches must conduct themselves professionally with these clients - polo shirts not necesarry, but clean cut, punctual, and polite are crucial

Ways to Keep Employees Interested• Just like in your general gym - have challenges,

seminars, eventually competitions

• Coaches should be developing the same type of relationships with corporate members as with general members - employees should want to have a beer with you and/or your coaches after class/work

• Body fat testing

Other Considerations• Be patient and persistent!

• Have a clear and well organized plan (aka - have your act together) - large companies expect vendors who have anticipated everything and have detailed plans in place

• You have one chance with every employee who walks into the gym - a company with 1000 employees gives you fewer chances to scare people away than a city with a population of 70k
