WORKING TOWARDS A MORE SUSTAINABLE FUTURE IN PROGRESS • Silfab is actively involved in the SEIA PV recycling working group, which is investigating options for recycling other components within the solar manufacturing process as well as end of life solar panel recycling. SEIA provides a vetted list of recycling organizations at www.seia.org/initiatives/seia-national-pv- recycling-program. • Silfab has established an Enviromental Committee to discuss topics of sustainability and environmental importance and implement an annual action plan including: Monitoring, reporting and identifying opportunities to reduce water usage. Monitoring, reporting and identifying opportunities to reduce energy use and GHG emissions. ENERGY EFFICIENCY • Energy conservation efforts in our ISO 9001-2015 certified manufacturing facilities include smart thermostats, energy efficient lighting and motion detector retrofits. • Silfab uses only electric energy in man- ufacturing and consumed ~5,484Mwh per year in 2018 for an indirect release from electrical usage of 0.00051 metric tons of GHG per module manufactured in 2018. • Ontario electricity emissions are only 40g. C02kwh, Washington 95g versus a global average of 478g/kwh in 2018. • Ontario’s electric grid power is nearly 90% GHG free. Silfab’s indirect GHG emissions from electrical use was 2,193 metric tons in 2018. WATER USAGE • Silfab consumed < 4000 cubic meters of water in 2018 down from 2017. • In our Canadian facility, all water is received from City of Mississauga, Ontario and is returned via domestic waste water to the city waste streams at approximately the same volume. CHEMICAL USAGE • Silfab does not use ozone depleting substances in our facilities. Silfab adheres to the strict environmental laws of the Province of Ontario and the State of Washington where we manufacture our solar panels. Silfab does not use perfluorocarbons. RECYCLING • Silfab undertakes efforts to minimize the environmental impact of manufacturing. All ribbon and aluminum frame waste is recycled through a partnership program with a vetted recycling organization. Our product packaging is minimal and where possible made with reusable and recyclable materials that can be returned for reuse. • Within our business operation, we opt for digital copies where possible and adhere to a strict recycling program as part of our environmental policy. DISPOSAL • Silfab safely disposes/recycles any chemical waste through vetted chemical and waste transport service companies. • Silfab Solar currently employs over 400+ people in both the US and Canada and we continue to add more jobs to the green energy marketplace. • Our facilities are ISO 9001-2015 quality certified. • Mandatory Health and Safety training is required by all Silfab employees. WORKPLACE DIVERSITY • At Silfab, diversity drives innovation and growth. The combined talents and diverse backgrounds of the engineers, skilled technicians and business professionals that make up Silfab’s workforce (over 40% female) result in the manufacturing of superior products and help to connect us to our partners and customers. • Silfab only partners with Socially Responsible Supply Chains • Silfab Solar currently works with a select group of international and domestic charities and not for profit organizations to provide sustainable energy resources to help enhance the well-being of impoverished communities. SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY • Silfab is dedicated to advanced product development with on-site research and testing facilities.
