THIS CATHOLIC LIFE The following from the Rule of St. Benedict sounds kind of Adventy. Even though it is for monks, I think it very well applies to us as well. See what you think. “What is not possible to us by nature, let us ask the Lord to supply by the help of his grace. If we wish to reach eternal life, even as we avoid the torments of hell, then – while there is still time, while we are in this body and have time to accomplish all these things by the light of life – we must run and do now what will profit us forever.” There will be added opportunities for confession during the rest of Advent. They are... Wednesday, December 15, 6:00 – 7:00 p.m., during Holy Hour at St. John’s and Saturday, December 18, 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. at St. Joseph. The Christmas liturgy schedule can be found elsewhere in this bulletin. Please note – there will not be a 5:00 p.m. vigil Mass on Saturday, December 25. hope your Advent is going well. Usually about this time I have at least a glimmer of an idea of what I preach on for Christmas. Not this year! Given all that has been going on in the world these past couple of years, what do you think I should talk about this Christmas? Ideas are welcome! Thank you.
