Categories
Categories provide a helpful way to group related posts together, and to quickly tell readers what a post is about. Categories also make it easier for people to find your content. Categories are similar to, but broader than, tags. !
Depending on the theme and widgets you have activated, categories can be displayed at the top or bottom of posts, on the individual post view, and/or in the sidebar. You can assign multiple categories per post (you must assign at least one), and categories can be organized hierarchically. !
To create a category: first, click on the “Posts” tab.
Click on the “Categories” sub link
This is where you will find a list of your categories.
To change a category name, click the “Edit” link, located directly under the category name.
Type the new name of the category. Ensure that the Slug matches the category name. Click
the “Update” button when you are finished.
To add a new category, simply type the name of the new category in the “Add New Category” section. Make sure the
Slug matches the category name. Click the “Add New Category” button.
To categorize your posts, simply click on the “Posts” panel on your dashboard.
Select a post you wish to categorize, and click the “Quick Edit” link located
directly under it.
Check the categories that generally describe your posts. Click the “Update”
button when you are finished.
You should now see the categories your respective posts are assigned to, next to
the name of the article.
Tags
Tags provide a useful way to group related posts together and to quickly tell readers what a post is about. Tags also make it easier for people to find your content. Tags are similar to, but more specific than, categories. !Depending on the theme and widgets you have activated, tags can be displayed at the top or bottom of posts, on the individual post view, and/or in the sidebar. You can assign multiple tags per post. !
To add Tags to your posts:
First, locate the article you wish to tag, then click the “Quick Edit” link located directly under the post’s title.
Start typing in keywords that describes your article. Separate keywords with commas. Click
the “Update” button when you are finished.
You should now see a list of tags next to your post.
