Support the Production of our Bulletin For quite some time we have been producing our own bulletin al-lowing us to meet the needs of the three languages. If we were to send this bulletin out to be produced, we would have to have one bulletin in English only for everyone and the publications of the Readings in Italian and Spanish would have to come to an end. Help us by Supporting our advertisers and also by placing an ad in our bulletin for a year. Please call the office for more information.

MASS INTENTIONS The readings for this Sunday are about God’s mercy, the necessity for trusting faith and the need for the forgiveness of sins. The opening prayer addresses the Father as "God of everlasting Mercy." In the responsorial psalm we repeat several times, “His mercy endures forever!” (Ps 118). God revealed His mercy, first and foremost, by sending His only-begotten Son, to become our Savior and Lord by His suffering, death and resurrection. Divine mercy is given to us also in each celebration of the sacra-ments.
Christ is Risen, Truly, He is Risen. My brothers and sisters today we celebrate the second Sunday of Easter Sunday and also we celebrate the Divine Mercy. In our Gospel to-day St. John tells us how the Apostles were frightened and afraid of the Jews. Then the Risen Christ breaks through the upper room where the disciples were locked in, out of fear of being crucified themselves, as followers of Jesus. St. John Paul II who was canonized on April 27, 2014 was always saying to all of us, but especially to the young people, “Do not be afraid.” If we read the Holy Scripture, we will find 365 times the words “Do not be afraid.” Why? Because God wants us to trust, have faith and believe in the One who came to save us, Jesus Christ. Jesus appeared to them and said, “Peace be with you” and what that means is another way of saying, “Do not be afraid, you are saved, you are forgiven and you be-long to me.” He forgives our sins because He loves us and has mercy on us. Today also my brothers and sisters, we celebrate the Divine Mercy Sunday. In the year 2000 Our Holy Fa-ther John Paul II instituted a new feast, the Feast of the Divine Mercy and it was celebrat-ed for the first time in 2001 on the Sec-ond Sunday of Easter like today. St. Faustina a faithful nun saw the vision of the risen Christ showing His wounds and from these wounds flowed blue and red rays. The blue rays sym-bolize the holy baptism, the one that makes us sons and daughters of God. Red symbolizes the Blood of Christ, the Divine Life that is nourished at the Holy Eucharistic banquet we celebrate Sunday through Sunday. Also, Jesus Christ in His revelation told St. Faustina “My daughter, tell the whole world about My incon-ceivable mercy. I desire that the Feast of mercy be a refuge and shelter for all souls, and espe-cially for poor sinners. On that day the very depths of My tender mercy are open. I pour out a whole ocean of graces upon those souls who approach the fount of My mercy. The soul that will go to Confession and receive Holy Com-munion shall obtain complete forgiveness of sins and punishment. On that day all the divine floodgates through which grace flow are opened. Let no soul fear to draw near to Me, even though its sins be as scarlet. My mercy is so great that no mind, be it of man or of angel, will be able to fathom it throughout all eterni-ty. Everything that exists has come forth from the very depths of My most tender mercy. Eve-
ry soul in its relation to Me will contemplate My love and mercy throughout eternity. The Feast of Mercy emerged from My very depths of tenderness. It is My desire that it be solemn-ly celebrated on the first Sunday after Easter. Mankind will not have peace until it turns to the Fount of My Mercy.” (Diary pg 699). My brothers and sisters let us take with us the words from St. John Paul II “Do not be afraid” and trust in the Divine Mercy, the Mercy that Jesus has for us, his sons and daughters and remember that “Christ is Risen, Truly, He is Risen”
Fr. Josue Vargas
Divine Mercy Sunday During the course of Jesus' reve-lations to Saint Faustina on the Divine Mercy He asked on nu-merous occasions that a feast day be dedicated to the Divine Mercy and that this feast be celebrated on the Sunday after Easter. The liturgical texts of that day, the
second Sunday of Easter, concern the institu-tion of the Sacrament of Penance, the Tribunal of the Divine Mercy, and are thus already suit-ed to the request of Our Lord. This Feast, which had already been granted to the nation of Poland and been celebrated within Vatican City, was granted to the Universal Church by Pope John Paul II on the occasion of the can-onization of Sr. Faustina on 30 April 2000.
Memorial Masses These are special masses for individual re-quests that can be booked through the Parish office. For more information please contact the Parish office.

ShareLife Terry obtained his Mas-ter’s Degree in music and philosophy earlier in life and was successful in ca-reers in spirituality with the Carmelites as well as in the hospitality industry. While working, he became addicted to alcohol. Recog-nizing the seriousness of his problem and in order to return to work successful-ly, Terry would need to be involved in a long term recovery program. He chose the spiritually enriched program St Michael’s Homes offered and as a result, Terry became focused and deeply con-nected with the staff at St Michael’s and was able to continue on the right path. He looks forward to the day soon when he can confidently leave and be success-ful once again in the hospitality industry, and an inspiration to those around him. ShareLife funded agencies like St. Michael’s homes helps many men suf-fering from substance abuse get their lives back on track through life-changing counselling and extensive support. Next ShareLife Sunday is April 17, 2016 Please give generously. You can work wonders!

Assisted Suicide Protect the Vulnerable and those who care for them!
By June 2016, The Government of Canada is expected to pass legislation to legalize assisted suicide. Cardinal Collins encourages Catholics throughout the archdiocese to visit CanadiansforConscience.ca and suppor t the Coalition for HealthCARE and Conscience. The coalition represents a group of like-minded partners, including 5,000 doctors across Canada, who are committed to protecting conscience rights for health practitioners and facilities. You can use this website to write directly to your Member of Parliament, respectfully expressing your concerns. Given the tight timelines for this legislation, please take action no later than April 1, 2016.

Questions for Reflection:
Do you want Christ to use you on
behalf of others?
If yes, what are the implications?
“They were all cured.” What signs
and wonders of God’s healing love
do you see today?
