Dear Church Family, Summer is here and that points to two things: School is out and Vacation Bible School is in! We always hope and pray each of our students and teachers had a good year and will enjoy their summer break. I believe students these days need prayer, support, and encouragement like no other group of students in history. They face so many complex challenges as they navigate through the darkness of our culture. God can and will guide and guard the steps of the young people who seek His will for their lives.
Vacation Bible School is upon us! V.B.S. is an important ministry opportunity for our church. We make a big deal out of V.B.S. because it is a big deal. The Lord always blesses us with scores of “kidz” during this special week. Be in prayer for each student, teacher, leader, and worker. Let’s each say a special prayer for Ms. Kelly as she leads our Children’s Ministry. We all love and appreciate Kelly. Here’s the theme verse and motto for this year’s V.B.S. His divine power has given us everything required for life and godliness through the knowledge of Him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 2 Peter 1:3 Gear up! Get ready! Game on!

A Word on WORSHIP
We are called to worship, and we are failing God when we are not worshiping to the fullest of our redeemed potential. When we substitute worship for work, we are failing God in ways that we can hardly imagine. When the glory of God came down on the temple in olden days, the priest could not stand to minister.
Look at some of the great advances in civilizations and you will discover they were made by worshiping men and women. Whenever the church came out of her lethargy and rose from her spiritual slumber and into a renaissance and revival, worshipers were always back of it all. A. W. TOZER, from his book “The Purpose of Man”

Make plans now to join us for our “Summer Cook-out” Hamburgers,Hotdogs
and all the fixins!
Over the last unit in our ABS classes, we have studied the letters from Paul to the Church at Corinth. Other than Jesus Christ, there is no character more central to the New Testament than the Apostle Paul. As Paul is to the New Testament, certainly the Old Testament centers quite a bit around David. Even the Scriptures describe David as a Man after God’s Own Heart! So, beginning in June, we will start a new ABS unit in 2 Samuel, each lesson centered around David – a Shepherd, a Musician, a Poet, and a King! This will be a great unit to see the relationship that David had with his Heavenly Father and a very intimate one, at that – and a good way to look into our own lives and examine our own relationship we have with God! So, make plans now to join us and stay faithful throughout the summer months to study the life of David in 2 Samuel. Invite a friend to your ABS class this Sunday! And make sure you make everyone feel welcome to your class!! See ya Sunday morning! ☺ Tim A.B.S. CORNER

Backpack
Project June 3-July 1
The Men’s and Women’s Ministries need your assistance in helping some students at a
local elementary and middle school with backpacks filled with school supplies.
The backpacks, along with the list of needed supplies, will be available in the
Sanctuary after each of the worship services on Sunday, June 3.
If you would like to help but are unable to go shopping for the supplies,
just claim a backpack, donate $30 for the Elementary supplies or
$40 for the Middle School supplies and the shopping will be done for you.
Bring the backpacks filled with supplies or the
backpack with your $30/$40 donation to the Church Office no later than Sunday, July 1.
The backpacks will be put together
at a combined meeting of the Men’s and Women’s Ministries on
Monday, July 9 at 6PM in the Kidd Street Center.
