Comments from the NewsWolverhampton named as one of the worst places to live in the entire world.

The guide explained: 'Wolverhampton is so bad we don't even have it on this site'. Daily Mail

Malcolm Gwinnett, deputy mayor of Wolverhampton, said: 'The people who have come up with this list obviously don't have a clue what they are talking about.

'We have some wonderful places such as West Park and Bantock House that would appeal to tourists.'

…take a stroll down Broad St (sorry, you can't drive anymore as the police had to seal it off at night, due to shootings, stabbings and various drug orientated gang warfare)Anonymous reader.

It says something about your city when a principle claim to fame is to have the best-known ring road in the country – because a tramp lived on it. Daily Telegraph

Planning

Investigating Presenting

I have worked independently on the planning.

I have evaluated the sources of evidence used and suggested improvements

I have reached a substantial well argued conclusion.

I have evaluated the sources of evidence I have used

I have worked independently on most of the planning ( with little help from the teacher)

I have chosen the range of skills and sources of evidence.

I have reached a conclusion and backed this up with evidence I have found out.

I have planned out my investigation and the steps I am going to take in order to answer my questions.

My conclusion links to the questions and evidence I have found out.

I have chosen which geographical questions I am going to answer in order to investigate the topic?

I have chosen the different skills and sources of evidence.

I have also reached a conclusion. I Have presented my findings in writing and graphs where I can?

I have used both primary information (your own findings such as a questionnaire) and secondary information (information from books, internet etc) to help you investigate my answers? I have used different Geographical skills (e.g. atlas, map reading, internet, GIS) to come up with an answer to geographical questions?

I have suggested my own geographical questions in order to investigate the topic? (Use the 5W’s and the H)

I have used different sources of evidence (e.g. leaflets, videos, photos and books)

I have used geographical keywords correctly in my answers

I have used sources of evidence (e.g. leaflets, videos, photos and books) to answer geographical questions?

Questions have been given to me (colour in if you have archived the level above) I have used Geographical skills (e.g.

atlas, map reading, internet, GIS) to answer questions.

I have used geographical keywords in my answers

How shall I present my work?

• You must find out about each city on the list and then decide whether the list of worlds worst cities is in the correct order.

• You must reorder the list and justify your decision.• You must show your planning and all ideas/notes as you complete

the task.

The final piece of work can be in any format – but must include a written part (in your own words) explaining the order of your list.

What do you think would be appropriate?

Researching and presenting evidenceRules

• Rule 1: do not copy and paste (plagarism)• Rule 2: use more than one source• Rule 3: use a variety of sources (not just internet

searches or wiki). Try a book, newspaper or tv programme!

• Rule 4: always include a bibliography (a list of sources in detail at the end of your work) and evaluate them

• Rule 5: think carefully….is the source valid or biased
