Our services cover the whole value chain from installation and commissioning

through maintenance checks, failure analysis, repair, cleaning, collection and

disposal of waste. With a team of qualified staff, own transport, and own

treatment plants (Żyrardów, Główiew, Szopienice, Świdnica, Turek) as well as in

AWAS-Serwis is a member of the AWAS Group operating across Europe.

AWAS Group's activities concentrate on sewage treatment with special focus

on oil sewage treatment.

We have been present on the Polish market since 1992, initially as a branch,

and since 1995, as a fully incorporated company. In January 2000, following

restructuring of AWAS-Polska company, a part of the erstwhile Service

Department formed a new entity – AWAS-Serwis Sp. z o.o.

AWAS-Serwis is a company operating throughout Poland, which focuses

mainly on providing maintenance services of oil separators.

Thanks to many years of practical experience and our extensive knowledge of

legislation on environmental protection, we know that services connected

with maintenance of equipment must be carried out by professional

companies. This is especially true for facilities which generate hazardous

waste. The company responsible for equipment maintenance should have

appropriate permits, relevant experience, proper organizational base and

references. Experience ensues only from long years of maintenance service

activity. The longer a company operates, the greater the certainty that you will

not be left out to solve your problems alone. What is more, our expertise is

further attested in multiple certificates of staff trainings.

Our company fulfills all of the above conditions of a professional maintenance

service company.

We have the necessary equipment to provide comprehensive maintenance

services, ranging from special tankers through fully equipped maintenance

vehicles to own facilities for the treatment of waste collected in the form of oil

sands and water-oil mixtures.

We were the first company in Poland to launch its own waste treatment plants

designed for waste from grit chambers and oil separators, starting as early as

1998 and 1999.



History

Our solid industrial base makes us completely independent from market

intermediaries.

Since one of our plants is located in the industrial region of Konin, we

cooperate with fire brigades to help contain over-the-road accidents,

especially -oil spills.

All maintenance vehicles are professionally equipped to ensure protection

from spills. They carry sufficient quantities supplies for immediate

confinement of both land and marine spills. As you can see, all our actions are

aimed to reduce environmental degradation and uncontrolled release of

waste oil.

Currently, business companies are increasingly eager to seek cooperation with

maintenance companies which manage waste generated at their facilities in a

comprehensive way. The establishment of such cooperation (supported by a

service-level agreement) significantly reduces costs and saves time needed to

contact individual waste collectors.

Facilities

The facility is designed to receive waste from settling tanks, oil separators, grease traps. We

also specialize in the treatment of sewage containing large amounts of vegetable and animal

fats. This sewage is characterized by high values of COS and BOS, oil and a variable content of

solids. The processing technology involves separation of the aqueous phase from solids, the oil

phase and fat. The aqueous phase is pretreated and discharged into the biological treatment

facilities, and the separated solids are subjected to further treatment.

Upon arrival at our facilities in our vehicles, the waste phases are separated, and fats, oils and

sands are dehydrated.

The facility is designed to receive all oil sewage, water-oil mixtures, and sludge from settling

tanks, oil separators, holding and evaporation tanks and storm sewers. The plant specializes in

large-scale neutralization of sewage and sediments contaminated with petroleum substances.

Thanks to the modern and highly efficient technology, we are able to receive any quantity of

the above waste. The facilities are open around the clock and work three shifts, so every

potential customer is welcome. We specialize in the treatment of the following:

wastes from oil dewatering in separators,

sewage and sediments contaminated with petroleum substances,

sediments from companies' sewage treatment facilities,

soil and stones containing hazardous substances.

FacilitiesMAINTENANCE AND OPERATION


The facility is designed to receive large amounts of soil and stones contaminated with

petroleum substances. We specialize in soil bioremediation. The technology includes the

removal of oil pollution (trafo station oils, heating fuels, hydraulic oils) from the soil by living

microorganisms in order to catalyze, destruct or transform various types of pollutants into less

harmful or harmless forms. We employ modern technologies such as aeration, heating and the

natural ability of microorganisms to degrade petroleum hydrocarbons.

It is ex situ bioremediation, since oily soil is brought into our facility and treated here. The plant

is equipped with general and specific cleaning systems for remediation leachate. The leachate,

which is mechanically pretreated, is headed for further physio-chemical treatment.

Technical conditions for the receipt of sewage and industrial waste for neutralization:

identify the chemical composition and origin of waste water for neutralization,

alternatively, submit a sewage sample for analysis to determine its chemical composition,

let us develop a technology to neutralize such sewage,

we organize transport of the waste by rail, tankers or road containers.

In 1999, we designed and built the first Waste Treatment Plant, comprehensively solving the problem of separator

waste. Our innovative technology allows us to treat waste contaminated with petroleum substances in the most

economic manner. The location of our sites in the regions of Wielkopolska, Mazovia and Lower Silesia gives us the

possibility to receive waste on very attractive terms from the entire country.

Waste management principles

One important purpose of the law on waste management is to regulate the

rational management of wastes and their renewed use. Waste management

can be defined as the collection, transport, recovery and disposal of waste,

including the supervision of such operations and disposal sites. Principles of

waste management pertain to a wide range of actions. Who acts generation or

is likely to generate waste should plan such actions. Any entity generating

waste should have a comprehensive plan in place.

LegislationWaste Management

We work within the group of AWAS companies authorized to carry out waste

management, which allows us to offer a wide range of services:

generation of waste: we have permits allowing waste production and a professional staff involved in collection and transportation of waste, including mainly hazardous waste; we carry out a comprehensive waste management program,

collection of waste: we prepare and secure waste for transport. We have specialized vehicles and containers for collecting a variety of solid and liquid wastes,

transport of waste: we have a specialized fleet and permits necessary to transport waste,

disposal of waste: we treat and dispose of a full range of wastes and issue waste disposal certificates,

waste recovery: thanks to our extensive knowledge, experience and professional technology, we offer disposal of liquid and solid wastes.

introduced into water or soil, they should not contain contaminants exceeding 100 mg/l of suspended solids and 15 mg/l of petroleum hydrocarbons.

§ 19.1. rainwater and snow melt contained in tight, open or closed sewer

systems from:

1. a contaminated sealed area of industrial or storage character, transport

depots, harbors, airports, cities, railway facilities, roads categorized as

Class G national, provincial and district roads, and parking lots exceeding

0.1 ha (0,25 acres), in an amount that is created by precipitation with the

intensity of at least 15 liters per second per 1 ha,

2. a contaminated sealed area of storage and fuel distribution facilities in an

amount which is formed from precipitation with the frequency of one per

year and duration of 15 minutes, but in an amount not less than this

resulting from precipitation with the intensity of 77 liters per second per 1

ha

For periodic checks, following stipulations form our basis:

Minister of the Environment of 24 July 2006 (Journal of Laws 2006 No. 137,

item. 984) on the conditions to be met for the introduction of sewage into

water or soil, and on substances particularly harmful to the aquatic

environment, and specifically § 21 paragraph 1, which reads:

"Fulfillment of the conditions referred to in Article 19 paragraph 1 is assessed on the basis of maintenance checks of cleaning equipment carried out at least two times a year; the operation should be consistent with the recommendations contained in the manual for the operation and maintenance of treatment facilities, and all activities connected with it shall be recorded in an operations' logbook."

For services connected with waste collection and management, following

provisions are applicable:

Act of 27 April 2001 On Wastes (Journal of Laws 2001 No. 62 item 628, as

amended).

Based on the provisions of the above Act, we have Integrated Permits,

allowing us to dispose of wastes.

In Article 3 paragraph 3 point 22 of the Act On Waste, we find the definition

of the "waste producer."

The Act of 19 December 2002 (i.e. the Act of 19 December 2002 [Journal of

Laws 2003 No. 7 item 78] to amend the Act On Waste and several other acts)

changed the content of the definition of "waste producer" in a way which

gave us the opportunity to be a producer as a company providing the service.

"Fulfillment of the conditions referred to in Article 19

paragraph 1 is assessed on the basis of maintenance checks of

cleaning equipment carried out at least two times a year; the

operation should be consistent with the recommendations

contained in the manual for the operation and maintenance of

treatment facilities, and all activities connected with it shall be

recorded in an operations' log. Unless the contract for services

stipulates otherwise, the entity that provides the service shall be

the producer of waste resulting from provision of services

involving construction, demolition, repair of buildings,

cleaning of tanks or equipment as well as cleaning,

maintenance and repair."

Such a company needs to obtain a decision approving a dangerous waste management program and it can become a producer of waste at the Customer's site. Our

company has been awarded such a decision. It is a substantial advantage on our part, since the Customer does not need to have their own decision to produce waste

and send reports to the authorities.

We have also been awarded a decision approving the waste management program by the Chief Administrator of the Regional Inspectorate of Environmental

Protection, which allows us to be a producer at "restricted and off-limits areas," eg. in the military and on land belonging to the Polish State Railways.
