With a hectic schedule, fitness may have low priority in your life. Tending to your health and fitness is important, however, and shouldn’t get pushed aside. Follow these tips to work fitness into your life: Make fitness a priority. If you are unable to exercise every day, do it at least three times per week at a high intensity. Park your car farther away from your destination so you have to walk more. Spend time outside. Take the stairs instead of the elevator or escalator. While sitting, raise your legs in front of you and hold them there for 15 to 30 seconds. Repeat this motion several times. Squeeze a stress ball while at work to relieve tension, burn calories, increase flexibility and improve blood flow. Stretch or exercise while watching TV—treadmills and exercise bikes are perfect for this. Exercise during your lunch break, even walking around the block or up and down a flight of stairs can help you stay fit. Work around the home—shoveling snow, gardening, raking leaves, sweeping the floor, vacuuming and dusting will help you burn calories and tidy your home.
