BEHIND THE SCENES TOURTake a behind the scenes tour of Napier’s Municipal Theatre. Start the tour outside the Municipal Theatre with an Art Deco Trust guide telling the tale of the rebuild after the 1931 earthquake, then head indoors where the Municipal Theatre staff will take you on a tour of this majestic building followed by a cup of tea or coffee in the foyer. HOT ROAST RAILCAR LUNCHEnjoy a scenic trip on the vintage railcar RM31 as it takes you from Napier to Hastings then makes its way back to West Quay in Ahuriri for a delicious lunch. GRAND ANNIVERSARY BALLIt’s time to celebrate! The Art Deco Trust is in its 30th Year so let’s put on our dancing shoes and make a night of it! The official opening of the Hawke’s Bay Toyota Winter Deco Weekend will be held at the Napier War Memorial Centre with music by the popular Jazz band Dave Atkin Group. COSTUMES AND CARS PARADE (FREE EVENT)Everyone is invited to join the costumes and cars parade through the city streets of Napier. Wrap up warm in your Deco duds and parade along with the magnificent cars from the Hawke’s Bay Vintage Car Club. There will be a special performance by Born to Move Deco Dancers and a chance to go for a ride in a vintage car at the end of the parade.Sat Jul 18, Meet at 12.30pm outside Art Deco Masonic Hotel, Herschell Street. The parade route will be Herschell Street, Emerson Street and will finish on Market Street. Vintage car rides leave from Dalton/Emerson Street intersection. Gold coin donation will go to a local charity. Event will be cancelled if raining cats and dogs!

Boarding at Napier Station, you will enjoy an entreé and a drink on the run to Hastings and back to West Quay in Ahuriri, where you disembark at Speights Ale House for your main and dessert courses.
