Winchester Country Seniors’ Club

If you are 55 years old and older we are looking for you. We meet the 4th Monday of every month at the Winchester Country Clubhouse. We meet for snacks and fellowship. We play cards, dominions or any games. We are always open for suggestions. We go out to eat and attend plays at the Houston Family Arts Center on Grant Road or The 1960 Playhouse off of Cutten Road. For more information please call Helen Delaney at 281-469-8351. Our next meeting dates will be as Follows: October 28: November 25: and December 23.

OTHER SENIOR HAPPENINGS AROUND TOWN; Cy-Fair AARP Chapter #4543 meets the third Tuesday of every month at 10:00 am at Jersey Village Baptist Church in Building D, Room 101 located @ 16518 Jersey Drive @ Rio Grande, Houston, Texas77040. We gather for coffee, rolls, and fellowship about 9:30am. We have speakers, we take day trips on a bus provided by Precinct 4 to various locations. We have trips planned for February 20, 2014: March 1, 2014: April 24 2014. We are involved with Wreaths Across America, Boys and Girls Country; CAM, and we have adopted a nursing home nearby that we do birthday celebrations every months. We are very active and we also go out to eat after most meetings.

Precinct 4 is trying hard to involve seniors in this area by having activities that are held throughout the year right here in our neighbor. They have a catered luncheon and entertainment at the Jersey Village Baptist Church about 6 times a year and the cost is only $7.00. Also they have a bus leaving the Fairbanks Library every month. In November they will travel to LaGrange; and in December they will go to Winter Wonderland in College Station. They also have an exercise class and game day at the Fairbanks Library on most Tuesdays during the day. So jump on board and have some fun while you are enjoying your retirement years. Call Helen Delaney at 281-469-8351 or call Precinct 4 at Fun for Seniors at 281-893-3726.

Mark your calendar’s for Cookies with Santa on Saturday December 14, 2013. Why stand in line at the mall when you can just pop into the Winchester Country Clubhouse between 1pm-3pm, and for $1.00 (per sitting) you can have your picture taken with Santa right here. We’ll even give you cookies and milk, or punch just for coming by. So we hope to see you and your little ones and even the big ones, too, on December 14, 2013, between 1:00 and 3:00 pm.
