Why Not Go to Church?by Dr. R. T. Kendall
Do not go because it is convenient, or because the peopleare friendly, or the singing is lively, or the choir and organistare good, or the preacher is charismatic. Do not go becauseothers of your age or interest are there. Do not go becauseyour marriage is in trouble, or your children need direction, orbecause you are lonely and hurting. Do not go because soci-ety is troubled and the nation is spiritually bankrupt. Why goto church? Only for one reason: because you have a soul. Ifyou lose your soul, nothing else matters.
Go to church to meet the Lord. Go to church to obey theWord of God. Go to church to be right with God. Go to churchto be saved.
