Welcome to William Harvey Day

William Harvey Day will showcase some of the bestcutting edge research currently underway in Barts andthe London, School of Medicine and Dentistry and in ourpartner NHS Trusts. There will be nine presentations bySchool researchers, as well as three science “hot topics”presented by leading researchers who have recentlyjoined the School, and three guest lectures.

We are delighted that these will be given by Sir Tim Hunt FRS, NobelLaureate and principal researcher at the Cancer Research UK Clare HallLaboratories, Professor Sir Mark Walport, Director of the Wellcome Trust and Professor Marcus du Sautoy, Professor for the Public Understanding of Science and Professor of Mathematics at the University of Oxford.

The day will conclude with the Barts and The London NHS Trust’s traditionalannual St Luke’s-tide Service in the church of St Bartholomew the Great. I would be delighted if you were able to attend the Service, as this is atraditional and very enjoyable part of the day.

Professor Sir Nicholas WrightWarden, Barts and The London, School of Medicine and Dentistry
