Welcome back, Wildcat fans! We are excited to kick off the new school year with a full athletic calendar. Our student

athletes have worked hard in preparation for the new season. Cross Country is ready for their first meet in Union

Grove on Saturday, Volleyball is in full swing with the varsity team competing in the Groesbeck tournament today and

tomorrow, Team Tennis hosted their first home match of the season on Thursday, and varsity football will kick off

their season on September 1st versus Mabank. We encourage our fans to come out and support all our fall sports.

As a reminder, please don’t forget Meet the Wildcats, Monday, August 28th, 7:00 p.m., Wildcat Gym! We look forward

to introducing our football, cross country, fall tennis, and volleyball teams, as well as student trainers, band

members, cheerleaders and Kik Kats. Representatives from the PISD Athletic Booster Club will be available, also, to

answer any questions you may have about memberships and volunteer opportunities.

Palestine ISD Food Service Director: Mimi Spreen

Free/Reduced applications are online. Parents can access from home computer, their students

iPad, a computer at the campus, or a computer at the library.

www.palestineschools.org click on Departments click on Food Services

Look for Meal App Now – Online Meal Applications link on right side of page.

Parents must fill out a new application EVERY YEAR. If you print out the application from the

PISD Website, it can take up to 10 working days for our office to process the app. If there are

errors on the app, we have to send it back to parent to correct. On-line apps prevent mistakes

because the program won’t let the parent submit it if required information is missing. If we

receive it electronically, it takes just a few clicks and the app is processed.

Per David Atkeisson, students may “charge” meals for the first 2 weeks of school, to allow time

for the apps to be processed. This doesn’t mean their meal is free. Parents are still responsible

for paying those “charges” no matter what the outcome of their app is once processed.

Menus are accessed by clicking on the Nutrislice apple icon (bottom left of page) on the

Food Service page of PISD website or go to www.palestineschools.nutrislice.com.

Meal prices are the same as last year and located on the PISD website.

Each campus will be offering meals to teachers/para’s/admin beginning in September.

An email will be sent with menu options and instructions on how to place your order.

Lunch is only $3.25.
