Why Shouldn’t Susan Jasmine Zulkifli be Pressured to Step Down

There are many thoughts surrounding Lenteng Agung residents about Susan Jamine

Zulkifli. Some choose to replace her with another candidates, while others think to give

her a chance to prove herself. This issue may be controversial for some communities

since the residents insisted to replace Susan just because of the religious differences.

This essay shall explore some reasons why Susan Jamine Zulkfli should not be pressured

to step down.

Firstly, Indonesia holds a belief that even though their citizens are different but they are

still one. It is the slogan that made Indonesia could gain their liberty over colonizers.

This belief, however, contradicts to the condition happens in Lenteng Agung subdistrict.

The residents in Lenteng Agung should think that when they are living in Indonesia, they

should act the same like their ancestors.

Secondly, religious differences do not guarantee that one would make any work

differences over another place. Lenteng Agung residents are one of the examples that

could bring the negative atmosphere in Indonesia. The residents’ intolerance act could

trigger youngsters to act the same in the near future. They should think of making their

country be a better place instead of subduing another people.

Finally, Susan has not even prove herself in Lenteng Agung subdistrict. Hence, it is

illogical for those who wanted to replace Susan with another person just because of

religious differences. Furthermore, the residents’ act could damage the reputation of

Indonesia in international scale.

In a nutshell, it is clear that Susan Jamine Zulkifli should not be pressured to step down

from the reasons mentioned above. In my opinion, the Lenteng Agung residents are too

hasty to make their move. They should give Susan a chance to prove herself in the

subdistrict.
