Hi I’m Edith Reyntiens, and I have been a single parent for almost 25 years

• When I was first on my own with my children

• There were times when I had really no money - for various reasons my ex could not provide.

• I was left with my daughter, a baby on the way and £10 a week to live on! This was no joke even in the 1990s.

• We used to buy our food and then eke it out over the week and always by Sunday lunch time we had very little left.

• So it was usually baked beans, sometimes we had toast, sometimes we didn’t!

Sharing out chicken wings to last the week

• I used to buy a bag of chicken wings from the market in town and share them out for her and me, three each for three days of the week, then vegetables, pasta etc. the rest of the time.

• There were no food banks back then, no one helped you if you had nothing to eat, you had to make things last.

• I could have gone begging – there were a number of things I could have done to make some money - but they were against my principles.

• And the internet was only just beginning, I could see the potential, but there wasn’t the infrastructure that we have today.

My mother used to pretend to be the nanny

• I come from a family with a history of following dreams, but with no money.

• Believe me, in the 60s’ when I was a kid it was possible to get by with very little money; rents were low, no one had mortgages, food was cheap, and we all hitch-hiked everywhere!

• Difficult to believe, isn’t it?

• When I was a child and my family had money problems, my mother used to pretend to be the nanny when the creditors came to the door.

• So you see, I grew up understanding that having no money was the norm and we had very few strategies to change things.

So what is the most painful thing for a single parent?

• You carry the can every time something goes wrong

• You struggle to pay the bills

• You juggle everything with no, or very little, support

• You are constantly fighting off debts

• Left feeling exhausted and frustrated that you can’t change things?

• Your children can’t have the things you want to give them• Treats?• Holidays?• Christmas presents?

Page 7: Whoopee! it’s baked beans again. A single mom on welfare and a baby on the way and how she survived

What do you want from life?

• As a young single parent you want to be able to:

• Spend time with your children – and not be worrying about money in the back of your mind!

• Pay your bills easily knowing there is more to spare!

• Maybe even being able to buy in some help

• Be in a position to choose a worthy partner

• Put some money aside for:• A rainy day• A holiday for the family• Treats at Christmas and Birthdays

Once your children have left home

It doesn’t necessarily get any better . . .

• You are older, maybe without regular employment

• You've racked up the debts providing for your family

• You’ve worked ‘to the wire’ for at least 25 years

• You’re at the end of a long road . . . But now what?

• Do your have a pension for your retirement?

• Have you paid off the mortgage?

• What is your life looking like for the next 20-30 years?

Page 9: Whoopee! it’s baked beans again. A single mom on welfare and a baby on the way and how she survived

How do you want to live when you are older?

We all dream of paying off the mortgage early: but we want other stuff once we have stopped working . . . • Financial security• Fun! – the chance to go exploring the world with no worries• To visit our grandchildren• To escape without worry• To take wild holidays!• Leave a legacy• Give something back to society• Each of us is different – what is it you would like to have?

Now that we have the internet –

There is no excuse . . .

There is the infrastructure

There are fabulous products on the market, built with years of experience behind their development

. . .

All we have to do is take advantage of the situation!

. . .

And learn to unlearn all the bad habits that have kept us going over the last few stressful years.

So now I want you to think about this . . .

What if you knew you had a system to make money using the internet?‒ So that you could breathe a sigh of relief?

What if you knew the system had the power to take you way beyond your expectations?‒ Would you be prepared to work hard to achieve the things that

you want?

What if you knew you would be supported by fellow team members every step of the way along your journey to the fulfilment of your dreams?‒ Are you prepared to radically change your approach to your life?
