Whole Family Support delivered by local Family Entepreneurs
Improving futures is just one of the Tyne Gateway ‘Barefoot Professional’ projects
Our Family Entrepreneurs are handpicked, fully trained local parents who themselves have
experienced and overcome the same or similar issues as those they support.
Delivering alongside schools we work with the whole family to improve life chances for children.

solutions to child poverty
”You’ve gotten more done in a week than I have in 5
years”
”The work you have done for my family has been amazing. My children attend school…..their
behaviour has improved 100%......We are a stronger
family”
”I feel my relationship is better with the school, I feel
confident picking up the children and talking to the
teachers”
“As a whole family we’ve learned to help Byron deal with his emotions …he’s a
different child now”
We are fully trained local parents who have experienced the same
or similar issues to those we support
We empower families to take
control of their own
lives
We are non- authoritative
and non-judgemental
We never give up on
a family
We deliver fun activities and develop new
community-led services
We develop and personalise
packages of support for each family based on need and family
strength
Dr Jim Crinson, Head teacher Collingwood Primary School,
North Tyneside: "the right kind of person approaching the family in the right kind of way is what makes the
difference .....they manage to get these families, who are
sometimes hard to reach, to trust them"
Alan Campbell, MP : “they never give up .... they persevere with people
that other agencies have sometimes written off.... they
work innovatively and are able to deliver really good
value for money”
Alison Burden, Head teacher Marine Park Primary School, South Tyneside: “that early intervention helps parents
access the right support at the most effective point in their lives and avoids it
becoming a crisis.”
