About IITRAMInstitute of Infrastructure Technology Research and

Management (IITRAM) has been established by the

Government of Gujarat as an Autonomous University and has

been mandated to bring about significant change in

Engineering Education with respect to Technical and

Managerial knowledge in the area of Infrastructure. The

objective of this Institute is to serve as a Center of excellence in

Research and Teaching in all areas pertaining to Infrastructure,

and the Institute has a vision of acquiring a status of National

importance in Infrastructure and related areas.

About the Department Department of Mathematics is a vibrant department with

enthusiastic and young faculty members having expertise in

very diverse fields; Operator Theory, Fuzzy and Reliability

Theory, Algebra, Number Theory, Statistical Inference and

distribution theory, Optimization and Finite Element Method.

Apart from the under graduate and post graduate engineering

courses, Ph. D. program in science and humanities is started at

IITRAM. The department has contributed to its best level in the

rapid growth of IITRAM. The department also aims to achieve

heights in research and teaching as well.

About the WorkshopStatistical analysis plays an important role in engineering, sciences and other applied disciplines. The formulation of statistical models, and their application to address particular types of study objectives, forms the core component of standard approaches to the analysis. In addition to that optimization is a very appealing process and it is used to solve a variety of problems associated with engineering designs and other managerial problems. It is felt that computations of the techniques for the real life projects is also an important component of any scientific study. Realizing the need of the computational tools, workshop also offers training on how to do analysis through R software and how to interpret the outcomes.

Accommodation:Suitably furnished accommodation will be made available

if requested in advance, in the hostels of the IITRAM on

nominal payment basis for out stationed candidates on

twin sharing basis.

Certificate:At the end of workshop, the certificates will be provided to

the participants who have successfully completed all the

assignments.

Objectives: This workshop is being organized with an objective to help Faculty Members, Research students and Professionals to acquire the theoretical as well as applied knowledge of Statistical Modelling and optimization methods with R to enable them to transfer/apply the knowledge in their respective fields.

The atmosphere of the workshop will be friendly and supportive with the aim of stimulating the exchange of ideas and experiences related to statistical modelling and optimization. We encourage students and young researchers to present their ideas related to the theme of the workshop.
