Rimless Raised Height Comparison

BTW or Back-to-Wall: The toilet cistern is concealed behind the pan within a piece of furniture or false wall. This can create a handy shelf behind the pan.

Fully Back-to-Wall: The back of the pan fits flush against the wall, concealing the pipes. However, it makes it much more difficult to attach a waste pipe that doesn’t come from directly behind the pan. Box section may then have to be built around the back of the toilet to cover pipework.

TH or Tap Holes: One or two? This depends on what type of brassware you want. One tap hole is great for minimalist designs. Two tap holes are better if you want a separate hot and cold tap.

Open-Back: An open back pan will allow for a side entry waste pipe as no concealed wall is in the way during installation. However, an open-back, means that the waste and connection can be seen and may not suit the modern look of a bathroom.

CC or Close-Coupled: The cistern is fitted directly to the pan so that it becomes a complete unit, avoiding the need for visible connection pipes.

Thermostatic or not: Whilst static valves are often cheaper, thermostatic valves allow you to vary the temperature of the radiator depending on the time of year or how you feel, completely separately to the rest of your radiators.

Quick-Release Seat: These seats are perfect for keeping your toilet spotlessly clean and hygienic. With a convenient button located at the back of the seat, it can be removed from the toilet altogether and cleaned separately and then conveniently reattached.

BTUs: A BTU, or British Thermal Unit, is the amount of heat required to heat the water in a radiator. The amount of BTUs you need depends on the size of your bathroom, and the amount of BTUs generated depends on the size of your radiator. As a rough estimate, for every 1m3, you’ll need approx. 125 BTUs. Measured against T50 - European Standard.

WRAS approval: Any water fitting must comply with the Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations or Scottish Byelaws. These require that a water fitting should not cause waste, misuse, undue consumption or contamination of the water supply and must be ‘of an appropriate quality and standard’. WRAS approval is the test that confirms the water fittings comply and are best for your home.

Dual Flush: Dual flushes help to make your cistern more efficient, reducing water usage by up to 50%, which will save you money and help the planet.

Semi-Recessed Basin: If your bathroom or en-suite has limited space then a semi-recessed basin might be the solution you need. If placed on cabinets, the basin front can sit proud, meaning your cabinets can be shallower and take up less space in the bathroom.

Rimless: In simple terms it allows your toilet pan to flush without a rim, thus making the whole surface easily cleanable. This unique system gives a genuine peace-of-mind that your toilet is as germ-free as possible.

Comfort Height: Our comfort height toilets feature pans that are 17” to 19” high, compared to the standard 15” of a regular toilet. The higher pan height can be good for the knees and back and offer real advantages to the tall, elderly and people with mobility problems.
