CRITERIA FOR SITE SELECTION 1. Is the site available for development?2. Is there a flood risk?3. Is the site in the Green Belt and if it is how can it be considered against the
following criteria as an exception site. a) To check the unrestricted sprawl of large built-up areas.
b) To prevent neighbouring towns merging in to one another.c) To assist in safeguarding the countryside from encroachment.d) To preserve the setting and special character of historic townse) To assist in urban regeneration by encouraging the recycling of derelict land.
