• Setup and Configuration• Apex support can assist during next upgrade

– To use this feature, you will need to add a Visual Status field to the ticket screen:

– Status field specified in a Scale Ticket screen template. • An example of the visual status field in the scale ticket screen

template:@Field = 768, "VISUAL_STATUS", 360, 15, 15, 590, 590, X, "“

– The field number for the Visual Status field is "768".

• Customizing the Scale Ticketing Toolbar– Scale Tickets and Misc. Scale Tickets programs can be

customized to hide some of the tool bar buttons.– Why

• Hide some of the tool bar buttons if you don’t use their functionality

• Simplify the design of the ticket screen for special-purpose use

• Not a security function, just a feature to eliminate visual tool bar buttons.

– Users can still access functions with a mouse or function keys.

• Rescaling the Screen• Overview

– Many of the Apex program screens can be rescaled in size. In this example, the ticket screen.

– You may want to rescale a screen for some specific purpose or for a better visual display

– Example would be to enlarge the ticket screen to fill the entire display for better focus.

Select “Rescale Screen”

from the Options menu.

• Setup– The “Rescale Screen” dialog will display.

Using this dialog, you can move the slider control to select a rescale percentage.

For example, if you select 150% and then click “OK”, the screen will rescale 1.5 times

its original size.

• Want to make it permanent for you?– If you have rescaled a screen, and then saved the screen’s

size and position, then every time you start that same program the screen will start up displaying the rescaled view.

Vehicle Ticket Inquiry

• What Is ‘Past Tickets’?• Provide an inquiry of a specific truck’s recent tickets

available to the operator from the ticket screen.• Intended to provide operator with a quick way to

review a truck’s past tickets.– Quick inquiry or create a new ticket with the previous ticket

data select.• In earlier versions, the operator could only duplicate

a ticket from the truck’s previous ticket on the same day.

• Why would the operator need to use this feature?

• It’s common for a truck driver to show up at the plant or quarry and request “the same thing I got last time”.

• The operator will benefit by having a way to look up the recent past tickets for a truck.

• Features of Vehicle Ticket Inquiry

– Quick view of vehicles past tickets.• Limited to number of days tickets are kept on current

system.

– User can select and view an existing ticket for reference.

– User can select and create a new ticket on the current ticket screen.

The ‘Past Tickets’ screen is accessed using the Past Tickets menu option or toolbar icon from the Scale

Ticketing screen.

• Operation– To create a new ticket from a previous day’s

ticket.• Enter the desired vehicle and carrier on the ticket screen. • Then select the ‘Past Tickets’ button or from the ticket

menu on the ticket screen.

• Setup:– Review ‘Purge Ticket Days’ setting.

– If ‘Carrier over Vehicle’ then Carrier ID and Vehicle ID are required on the ticket screen before selecting ‘Past Tickets’.

– If ‘Vehicle over Carrier’ then only Vehicle ID is required before selecting ‘Past Tickets’.

– Set ‘Allow repeat from previous dates’ must be at ‘Yes’.

• What is “Deny Rights”

• A security feature

• Allow one group of users to use a special ticketing function but ‘deny’ another group from using the same feature.

• Example: Both groups are on the same Apex system. – A quarry operation and recycle operation are on the same

property using the same Apex system.



• Ticketing "Deny Rights" Feature– Summary:

• This feature allows the administrator to control specific user groups access to specific special ticketing functions.

• By default, all the rights are available, unless specifically denied.

• Examples are: Correction, Duplicate, Incomplete or hold, Return, Void, and Edit Quantity.

• How can you manage the same truck with different trailers.

• Example:– Trucks may change trailers often.

• Inherit Vehicle Types– Overview

• You can use Vehicle Types to manage a group of vehicles with similar weights and other attributes.

– Vehicles of the same characteristics » length, number of axles, and type of bed can be

considered the same truck or vehicle type. – Simplifies the setup of a new truck of the same type.

Vehicle Configuration

• Vehicle Configuration – Two Types:– Set up a full combination of weights and trailers, etc., saved

to an ID you pick.– Set up a default for the base vehicle, and add or drop

trailers dynamically, changing weights automatically.– Set ‘Inherit Vehicle Types’ to ‘No’.



• Setup the configurations in the Vehicle Screen.



• The other way to set up a configuration is to leave the Configuration ID blank. A blank Configuration ID is the default.



• Initial values are brought in from default configuration. • The trailer fields are open and editable.



• Tare:– One item is not saved as part of a configuration,

and that is the vehicle Tare weight.

– The purpose is that the entire vehicle combination is to be brought back to the scale before loading to update the tare.

Require Tare Next Load

• Require Tare Next Load• You can configure Apex to require a tare weight on a vehicle’s

next load.

Require Tare Next Load

• If a vehicle changes trailers, you may want to set that vehicle to require a tare weight on the next load.

• This feature supplements other logic that require a tare weight.– Tare interval days specifies a new tare weight after number

of days. – This feature will supersede the interval days, and require a

tare weight on the next load no matter when the last tare weight was captured.

• There are three ways to require a next load tare. – Set the vehicle’s “Tare Next Load” in the Vehicles screen.– Change the vehicle’s configuration in Vehicles or Tickets

screen.– Enter a manual tare weight in the Tickets screen.
