The World Children’s Haiku ContestIn honour of the World Children’s Haiku Contest 2015-2016 we are holding a haiku workshop with facilitator Maeve O’Sullivan. Library After Dark Writers’ Cafe Open to new and emerging writers, the Library After Dark Writers’ Café takes place once a month in Clondalkin Library in the evening when the Library is closed. Every month, there is a different workshop to explore various forms and genres of writing which help participants develop as writers. This project is funded and supported by the Carnegie UK Trust.

This series of six workshops will take us act by act through Sean O’Casey’s 1916, looking at the play in its socio-economic and political context. This is a non academic course for adults and will be delivered in a lighthearted and engaging way. Free but booking essential as places are limited.

International Women’s Day - Cumann na mBan and the women of 1916Historian Ann Matthews will give a talk on Cumann na mBan and the women of 1916. The talk will focus on connections to the South Dublin area. Ann Matthews is a historian, living in Kildare, who has authored a number of works including Dissidents, The Irish Citizen Army and Renegades.
