JULYTUESDAY 2 JULY, 7.00PMPROFESSOR ROGER RICHARDSON – ‘RECOVERING FORGOTTEN LIVES, THE HISTORIAN’S TASK TODAY’Traditionally, history has been
a top-down, 'snobbish' subject
interested chiefly in leaders of
different kinds. Now, however,
historians are bringing to life those
in the past who have been ignored or neglected – among them
women, workers of all kinds and children. Using some local examples,
this lecture illustrates the historian's new agenda.
