What is in a Name?

Momordica cochinchinensis

In Southern Asia, the gâc vine is often seen growing on lattices at the entrances of rural homes.

Among its many uses, gâc is used to prepare a special rice dish known as Xoi Gâc or “red rice”, traditionally served at celebrations.
