What Do You Think You Will Be Like And What You Will Be Doing 10 Years or 20

Years From Now.

In the next 10 or 20 years from now, I want to be a good and dedicated teacher. Teacher is

a role model to their children. A role model is a person who inspires and encourages us to

strive for greatness, live to our fullest potential and see the best in ourselves (Cathy

Vandewater, 2008). A role model can be anybody, a parent, a sibling, a friend, a singer, but

some of our most influential and life changing role models are teachers (Cathy Vandewater,

2008). In my opinion, teacher is the one best career ever because as a teacher, they can

give knowledge to the community especially students in the school.

What do I want to do after 10 years? I have several goals and accomplishments that I

want to achieve in the next 20 years. First, I want to be a dedicated teacher that work in a

great and popular school. Then, I might probably pursue my study until I will get the title of

Doctor of Philosophy. To become this profession, it generally takes about 10 years of

education. This is because, I need to be a struggle to get the opportunity to be a good

teacher.

Therefore, why I want to be a teacher? The first reasons are because teachers touch

the future. I want to help the children to achieve the best in their life. I will making a different

in others life. I want to become a teacher not because of the salary nor because of the long

holidays. Rather, I want to become a teacher because I want to help people especially the

children so that they can be good citizens in the future. The children are our Nation’s most

valuable asset that is why I want my students be successful and devoted to community,

religion and their country. I want to inspire the children who will represent the future of our

great nation.

Next, the reason that I will be a teacher because I was inspired by a wonderful and

great woman, named Mrs. Azuman who taught me that people who have no dreams of the

future will not fly far away, if I put my mind to accomplish my goal I could make it. She

inspiring me to be the best and success in my life. I could be anything I want to be. As I

have grown, I had the good teachers in my previous school, she is Madam Surayaninawati

Binti Ardimanshah, who was inspiring me to be a good educator. During my primary school,

she taught the mathematics subject. I remember that she were good at explaining content,

were patient yet firm with students, were always fair, set high expectations, knew how to

motivate, and used humour appropriately. This is the type of teacher that I want to be in the

next 10 or 20 years that was very useful to our education in Malaysia.

I want to be a teacher because of my interest since I was seven years old. I love

teacher’s career. I believe that teaching is the noble profession. I want to share my

knowledge that I have. I want to show a good attitude like helping people, talk with politely

and respect the eldest, not a bad attitude that can ruin themselves. Education is very

important for our generation. They need a good education and educator or tutor so that they

can be teach in a right way. This is because there are many challenging and obstacles that

may be happening in the future. I will expect every one of my students to want to learn and

more importantly to understand.

After I work for 5 or 6 years, I will have a lot of money by that time, I will plan to

pick up a business. I will buy two or three shops and run my shops and have another

business such as boutique, restaurant and bookshop. By that way, I will make more money

comparing that I work as an educator. Besides, I want to open a therapy centre for remedial

student and the children that have a learning difficulty. Based Yasmin Hussain (2008),

therapy is derived from the Greek namely "Therapeia" which means one service, one that

relates to the presence of the Greek word "therapeuo" which means "I wait upon". Therefore,

therapy is a service provided to patients (Mosley, 2001). I think therapy is very important to

the remedial student because it can train the students master in certain skills that relevant

and related to our daily life. For instance, hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, music therapy and

art therapy. Therapy as preparation to learn. It can develop the cognitive function, emotion,

social and psychomotor of children. I believe that my therapy centre will help the remedial

students to improve their quality of life, self-confidence or self-esteem and enhance their

cognitive, emotional and health.

After I run my business, I am going to marry with my future husband. We will start to

make a family and planned to have the children. We will live in a big house which have a

beautiful garden outside or maybe a big of pool so that my children can play inside my yard

because, if my children play outside, it will be a little risky. I just don’t want anything bad to

happen to my family because I love them. After that, if I have more money, I want to take

my family to Mekah for ’umrah’ and ‘haji’. Next, I will be spend a quality time with my family

at the Jeju Island, Korea. I will build a huge house at that island so that we all can stay there

for one year. I want to spend time with my family because I love them so much and I want

my children get a fully attention and love from my husband and me.

Lastly, the most important thing is that I will be happy doing what I do. I hope that I

can be the best teacher, a good wife and mother to my family in the future. I hope my

dreams become a real in my life. I think that is all I can say about my dreams. It is just a

simple and nice dream, but it give a big impact to my life, my family and community.
