Slaves
• Slaves were abused in the south and the north wanted to free them.
• Also the north used factories instead of slaves to do their work because slaves were used to grow cotton and they were too expensive.
The north
• The north used white people in factories because they were less expensive than slaves. And slaves grew cotton which they needed land for.
The south
• The south used slaves to grow cotton for money instead of factories.
• They made more money but it was harder to grow because slaves were expensive.
Bleeding Kansas
• Abolitionists and slave owners went to Kansas to vote on slavery.
• James brown went to Kansas and killed slave owners with his kids and gave his slaves that he freed guns.
Abraham Lincoln
• He was born in Illinois.
• He was elected and most of then southern states seceded.
