Chapter 1 Have you ever heard about the Louisiana Purchase? In 1803, the Louisiana territory was owned by France. Jefferson purchased the territory for $15 million dollars. With the new land purchased and unexplored, Jefferson sent Lewis Clark to explore. Jefferson gave them many instructions. First, he told them to find the water rout in Pacific Ocean. Next, he told them to make a map of the land. Last, he said to record all the animals and plants. On May 14, 1804 Lewis and Clark left with the corps. On the journey, they met Sacagawea who helped them the Rockies. Later on, they met Native Americans. They got passed them by getting someone to talk French to them and make peace. After Lewis and Clark returned, people started moving west because they wanted to live on the land. About 100,000 PEOPLE DIED. In 1890, the west was officially explored/ 44 states.after that, the transcontinental railroad RR and telegram were essential in keeping a large country.

chapter 2

there is a big piece of land. but there is native americans inhabiting it. people wonder

how was there life like before there land was settled. millions and millions of people died.

also, bison was hunted by native americans. There was a money called unity that was not

a lot of money.

After the louisiana purchase , people wonder how there life like now. there life was

miserable. They had no land and no food. They did not hunt bison because they could not

hunt that good anymore. Then they traveled to lewis and clark to get there land back.

They failed and made peace with them instead.

chapter 3

The impact of the native americans was a really big part of the western expansion and

here's the why part. the louisiana purchase was the one that caused them to lose there

lose their land. when lewis and clark because they wanted there land which caused the

trail of tears. lastly, they mexican and americans started fighting because of the native

americans.

The native americans were so tempered to get there land back. so they met lewis and

clark to get there land but instead they didn't get there land but they did get a better life.

Then people started moving west and a lot of people died from native americans because

they wanted there land back. So pretty much the theme is tempered.
